You're still contradicting yourself. Perhaps by "killed me" you mean "been unhappy with me but allowed me to do it anyway"? In my lexicon, anytime you use that slang to refer to a parent's actions towards a child, it implies at least a forcible termination of whatever behavior the parent is disapproving of. In your lexicon, is it just another alias for "disapproved"?

Alternately, maybe you mean that you could have kept the knowledge from them, but in that case you still don't mean what you *said* - you mean "If my parents had found out I was dating a..."

You're right, Spazz brought your personal life into it, and IMO he shouldn't have. (Though I can certainly understand his reasons: having someone impugn your relationship, do you now understand how Mamimi and Coty feel about your and Casey's remarks?) You, however, are perfectly free to react with "No, that is not a factor in my opinion/No, that is none of your damn business." And such a calm response is infinitely more believable than a long apologia - which, after all, most people interpret to mean that you have something to apologize for. That's been my policy when people impugn the fact that I'm single and proud, and it continues to be my policy in this thread and elsewhere.

For all of you against them:

You guys do not know them yourself. They are my best friends, I know how they act. I know that they are a damn good couple. They get along so well. Thanks for having a heart and understanding the meaning of true love and happiness in relationships. Although i may not talk to you often, you guys are good friends here, and your what helps IndyDDR be what it is.
