it's all moonspeak
There's something about posting IM logs that always leads to topics that devolve into giant wars with flamethrowers. Locked, sorry.
A normality test:
+++ATH
If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

I agree with MonMotha that posting IM logs generally doesn't go well on forums. However, the content of this log is indicative of the type of behavior that led to Casey's recent banning...something of a "what not to do" (at least here on IndyDDR).
I'm willing to let this continue as a discussion, but it will get relocked if it starts to go badly.

I think Casey should be permanently banned.
He causes trouble. He treats people badly just because they aren't as good as he claims to be. He treats people badly because he doesn't know them. He disses on tournaments because he doesn't feel like going (most likely for fear of people realizing he's not as good as he says). He complains/protests about pads he hasn't played on in 3 years.
Basically, he doesn't do anything good, and he dose everything bad he can.
Get rid of him(in this case stay rid of him); he's hurting people's feelings.

In general, there will always be people who annoy you wherever you are.
1. You don't have to reply to them.
2. As a matter of fact, you don't have to say anything to them at all.
3. Don't flame back, it gives them more of an incentive to keep on at it, because they know they're achieving their purpose. People can make fun of your short temper more than game skills.
As much as I know he's insulting your boyfriend, you still don't have to say anything. And all you have to do is block him, anyhow.
And on a side note, as much as DDR Kokomo got themselves into a slight mess coming to the MegaPlay tournament, I will back them up because I like talking to them. They're friendly. It's hard to be a team in a place where DDR is getting real techincal and competitive. They're all young, and they're trying their hardest. As long as they are having fun within themselves, it's all good. Though they still have room for improvement, they're nice. I'm not one to talk, since I lost my first round, too, but I will honestly put forth that I was disappointed a little in them, since I had seen DDRKokomo_Jess' post on DDRFreak, quoting "Our team owns." I still think they're cool, though. =)
As for the Coty/Casey stuff, I'm staying neutral only because I talk to both Coty and Casey. Although I never met Casey, I'm sure he's cool in person. On the internet is a totally different thing, so Mamimi don't get too offended about IMs/forums posts. If I saw Casey insulting Coty in front of his face, then I'd probably back Coty up. But that's different. Coty doesn't have to talk back, either. It's not always good to assume, either, or put words in other people's mouth. And remember, two wrongs don't make a right!
Basically, the main point is to relax. Personally, I don't care if a person has 5 AAA's, 80 or 300. If they're good, they're good, right? There are going to be different opinions on what "being a good player" means in the world of DDR, so all I can say is there are a TON of "good" players out there.
Further, Indiana is a small[er] state. Coming from California, it'd be silly to be ranking yourselves till you're blue in the face and arguing about how many AAA's you have. I've seen many good players in California, and though I've been "out of the scene" for quite a while before I moved to Indiana, I still think that arguing over "who's the best" is kind of ridiculous. I mean, in freestyling, even if you win first place in a tournament, that doesn't necessarily mean you're the "best freestyler" EVEN if you won 1st place in 493872987423 freestyle tournaments.
I'm just saying, if you're a good player, what more is there to it. It's fun meeting other good players, just for the hell of it. To play, battle it out and learn from other people, right? It's ok to be counting up the number of AAA's you have, but you don't have to necessarily have to shove it in other people's faces, either. You win and lose some, I'm not sure if there's one player that hasn't lost at least once, whether failing a song or losing to someone else at a time they consider themselves a "good" player.
Hm.

Everyone is basically a victim to Casey, trust me, you aren't alone. For some reason, I've been lucky. He hasn't really given me too much shit, but if he were on the forums longer, I'm sure it would've happened. The best thing to do is just to ignore him if he's being an ass towards you. Don't take the things he says seriously. I used to be offended too before I knew anything about him. The best advice is to just ignore him.
lol, intermittent explosive disorder
even after a banning casey's name just refuses to die.
I bet he is loving this.
Although a few people here have it wrong, I've been around the forums long enough to know mearly ignoring casey doesn't work, or in the very least he doesn't give up that easily.
Instead play along and encourage him to try better at insulting you, because it lacks a certain punch. He gets bored with this game easily cause he knows he's not getting under your skin.

Blah.
I realize that now.
But I'm not the best with patience and it's quite frustrating to be random attacked by some random asshole...quite frustrating to have someone be so unwilling to talk it out and just cover all intelligence with 'fuck' 'n00b' 'scrub'..it's frustrating.
And WHY IS HE PICKING ON ME!
he's like...gotta be like 8+ years older than me, come on!

I was a pretty short tempered 12 year old myself on the old DDR Freak forums.Fagulous wrote:lol, he's picking on you cause it's easier to get younger people mad.x3Mamimi wrote:Blah.
