I didn't use the poll function on this Thread because I really just need comments but then again I need a count too. This is for the Anderson Putt Putt Golf and Games. As you know there is going to be an In the Groove 2 put in very soon. This alone is going to probably draw some attention. I was wondering how many of you would come and play a Beatmania IIDX machine if he went about getting one. I talked to the Owner and he told me to get info on the game and get print outs. And Everyone knows the only one is up in Ft.Wayne. So this is actually kind of an extra. I want to print this out after I get a good number if this is successful. So if anyone is intersted post some comments. Thanks!

IIDX machines are stupidly expensive, but if its 10th or Red I'd come up to anderson quite frequently just for that.

They haven't put one in yet or thought about it that much. I'm hoping this will help get them an Idea of how many people around the area play the game so we could possibly have one to play here in Central Indiana. I've got lots of info already printed.

I'd go out there every chance I got and play it all day.

They'll see the price on one (about $10k used, I've gathered, hitting $25k new) and can their plans pretty quickly, I'm guessing. I'd probably play it some if it's a recent style though (IIDX RED would be awesome, especially if you get it on E-Amuse, so I could use my card).

Unfortunately, IIDX just isn't likely to be a decent investment in the USA. It's really hard for new players to get started, and the machines are very expensive.

i'd like to chime in (yet again)

as much as i'd love a iidx cab, i truthfully wouldn't reccomend the burden on anyone. the cabinets are built like absolute shit and break real easily. I said the same exact thing before putt putt in FW got theirs and look where it is now... a pretty coat rack. I mean, it's an AWESOME game don't get me wrong...but the cab is an arcade owners worst nightmare

The Ft. Wayne machine's cabinet is actually in pretty good shape (and it works now, too). The problem was that, like many other IIDX machines, the monitor went out on it. Normally, this isn't a big deal: arcade monitors are pretty easy to come by. However, IIDX uses a nice Hitachi 720p Hi-Def monitor (at least that's what it certainly looked like, I know it was a Hitachi). These are likely to be rather expensive to replace. Ft. Wayne has theirs on a janky projector setup now, but it does work.

The cabinet actually seems built to last, at least the parts that take any abuse (play surfaces). The monitor stand I could see being a big wonky, but it didn't seem too bad. Most of the ones I saw in Japan were in pretty good shape, though I guess Japanese people are probably nicer to their machines than American kids.

About the only major problem other than monitors I noted with IIDX machines (and believe me, I played a number of them) was that the "rumble pad" at the bottom seems to go out. However, given how annoying some people find that thing, it may just be that they get disconnected.
