It will also have a 5 key mode, with a different song list for each.
Can't wait to see how it turns out.

I hope they didn't fuck up the timing windows, Konami seems to be pretty good at fucking things up.

Joe, keep on this. I am very interested.
Konami not caring about American Audiences? Bullshit, especially after this!

There is a difference between caring and having dollar signs in their eyes. Hopefully this isn't as much of a dissapointment as other American Bemani titles.

There are both good and bad things about this US release.
Good:
Uses 9th Style engine, the best in the series most likely in terms of smoothness.
They are using songs that have appeared in IIDX before even though some are songs that are known here from DDR.
A reasonably priced IIDX controller that is coming out in the states, VERY GOOD!
Bad:
According to current word it will only have about 50 songs! (9th style in Japan had 87 songs!)
The possibility of changing the game in order to reach the mainstream. (While the game looks very faithful to the JP releases in vast comparison to DDR Extreme US the timing system and grading system could possibly change.)
Waiting until 2006 for this release. (Given how fast 9th style came out we could see 10th style before this!)
This should be very interesting to see the end result of this.

From this day forth the American IIDX shall be known as IIDX: Purple

On that note, it should be mentioned that IIDX 10th Style CS was announced today, its release date is November 17th, 88 total songs, and all songs released in the arcade style are on the CS (not that they wouldn't be). Seven CS exclusives are also planned to be included.
Oh happy day! Now I'll be able to play One More Lovely and 1st Samurai!

And the first batch will have special E-amuse cards for Happy Sky... I'll have to decide if it looks cool enough to replace the one I have right now (the little ghost saying "Happy?"):
