Explain? Ok I'll do that. All goth metal is stupid. The lyrics rarely have any meaning to them, except to talk about either
A) How OMG DARK the band is
B) Talk about how cool satan is (omgomgomgogmslipknot)
C) How they as people are so misunderstood
D) Some other lame goth cliche.
Nu-Metal bands are rarely entertaining. Unless you're like...12.

Jeff, hello?
Your musical tastes are just as worthless in my eyes as mine are to you.
Remember that. Your musical taste isn't all powerful. Goth metal, or all metal in general, is about the power of the music, not the words alone. Yeah, the lyrics aren't always that exciting by themselves. Most metal is about music, and about energy. Not words.
Yeah, lots of people can write emo songs that make people cry and rethink their life, or whatever the hell they want to do. Not everyone wants to man, not everyone likes that! Some people just wanna crank up the stereo and turn off their brain for a while, just get lost in the drum and guitar driven rock music.
Some metal bands have meaningful lyrics, but they're still not the focus of the song. It's always about the music, because that is what fans of the genre care about. Not how emo and poetic the singer is.
As for the thread itself...
is there a point?

Rofl, I love how everybody gives him a miss/boo because he didn't use random thoughts =)
Now the poor guy's in freaking danger, I wouldn't have even rated that. I'd have just told him to use Random Thoughts =)

You know that Jeff listens to hardcore and even some grindcore? Most of the real hxc is sometimes even heavier than metal. I agree alot with Jeff here, Rob Zombie sings about nothing. "Slam in the back of my Dragula"? Are you kidding me?
