Hey everyone, been a real long time since I've been on here. But I figure this is the best place to try and find what I need. My wife and I (another former IndyDDR lurker) are starting to play teh didder again and we want some pads. She likes Red Octane pads, which aren't bad but I I prefer hard pads. Cobalt Flux pads are still as expensive as ever. I've seen a few other hard pads on the market but I'm not sure how good they are. Anyone have hard pads they aren't using for sale, or know where I could buy some?

"Red Octane" is a brand, not a type of pad. Red Octane happens to make Afterburners, a metal pad.

I am inclined to recommend against the recent Red Octane products as their quality has substansially slipped. As for good quality DDR platforms, unless you can build it yourself you're gonna end up spending $300 in the end cause there are not that many good options sadly.

I'll sell you my Cobalt Flux I don't use it anymore at all, especially since I live in a 2nd floor apartment. I know it'd cost a lot to ship it, but I won't gouge you for it. A small chunk of the back of it came off (it's just like, compressed wood board) but my dad fixed it up with some kind of industrial adhesive stuff. The pad works great though and the top side looks good, just wear from playing.

Some have said that the MyMyBox stuff is remarkably decent. Of course, it's also not exactly cheap...

Mymybox hasn't had anything in stock for over a year so count that one out. I've been on the pre-order list for a 3" Blueshark with the bar since, I believe, April. It's a really shady program and honestly, judging by their forums and tech support, I wouldn't be surprised if the entire company is based on a teenage boy living in his grandma's basement. Occasionally. With one eye. And two fingers. With down syndrome.

I'd honestly suggest a cobalt flux with the arcade mod.

I sold my Redoctane afterburner because the arrows were recessed further than arcade panels, and the arrows squished down when stepped on them. Like a hard soft pad, so your feet probably .25 to .5" deep into the pad when you stepped on an arrow.

Well we decided to hold off getting hardpads. For now we're just going to get some Red Octane Ignition pads (btw danc1005 I know RO is a brand). Hey Joe, could you snap some pictures of the Cobalt for me? I'm interested, but how bad is it worn out? I may just have to get used to playing on soft pads!

Yeah I can snap some pics tomorrow. The top side of it (side you play on) looks nearly perfect, the back side (facing the floor) just looks weird, doesn't affect playability at all.
