Big YAY for some songs.
Big BOO for others.
Big WTF as to 4 songs in each tier.

My "Big Yay"s":
-Through the Fire and the Flames (Really the main song I am looking forward to.)
-Welcome to the Jungle
-La Grange
-one
-Black Magic Woman
-Paranoid

Big "WTF"s:
-Devil Went Down to Georgia (Is there any guitar in that song?)
-The Metal (Boo Tenacious D)

Those "guitar duels" sound interesting, though.

Slipknot- Before I Forget
Disturbed- Stricken

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Ohhhh but seriously though, Gallows are on there? They were some pretty rad dudes at Warped.

Overall the songlist looks pretty good. I'm glad that as the games go on, they get better song selections each time, as opposed to say...DDR games.

Rather than flame flame flame, I'll just say that I do not agree. I think the later DDR games have had some really great songs.

I will give the makers of this release credit where it's due as they are really trying to beef up the difficulty from what I saw of Dragonforce's Through The Fire and Flames. (You can view some of the song at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZutgOyA9EY if you want.) I don't know if they will reach the level of Guitar Freaks though in terms of difficult just due to the difference in precision and timing.

Most people around here know that I'm a Guitar Hero freak (no pun intended), and I'm super excited about GH3. After the somewhat disappointing GH Rocks The 80's (bad song list, not enough songs to justify the price, and no new features) GH3 looks to be a major step up. Those of you who think Guitar Hero is 'easy' should be sufficiently challenged by some of the new songs to make you think otherwise. And personally, I think this song list is the best of the series so far (Tier 8 is a dream tier, although I am puzzled by Devil Went Down To Georgia as well). Another nice touch is that many of these songs use the original master tracks, as opposed to recreating the songs in the studio. While they usually do a decent job recreating the tracks, a few of the recreations have been real stinkers (trying to duplicate the vocals of Axl Rose or Zach de la Rocha is not an easy job).

PS - Here's a little plug for Guitar Wizard, the Guitar Hero customization software that I wrote. If you have a modded PS2 and are interested in putting custom songs into your Guitar Hero game, this software makes it easier than ever. LINK

I was talking about PS2 versions, which had some pretty lame songs in my opinion. I dunno, thats just me though. Most people would say i have shitty taste in music.

Ahhh, yeah then I would agree. The Ultramix Series has actually done a much better job than Extreme, Extreme 2, Supernova, ect.

I seriously hope you're being sarcastic. Ultramix games (besides maybe 1) is home to some of the worst, off-synch, poorly-made songs and stepfiles I've ever seen.
CS sucks in general, but Ultramix is the cream of the crap.
