Religion...?

Post by danc1005 »

...I don't agree with all the opinions put forth in this video, as I realize that the Bible and other religious texts were not meant to be taken literally and that our modern religion is a horrible distortion of what was originally intended...however, I do agree with the fact that this "delusion" exists and that it should be stopped.

What are everybody's views on religion?

Here's my view on religion.

The fact that you've made a thread about religion in itself will stir unnecessary debate and argument.

Anything that has that sort of effect can't be a good thing.

I'm in a metal band, I play guitar, and hang out in a strip club.

Clearly, I worship the devil.

The guy's argument may be more convincing if he stopped using the word "delusional."

And "bubble."

Back in the Good Old Days of IndyDDR, I remember several lively (but not flame-filled) discussions about controversial topics. I agree that this forum isn't the best place to discuss that kind of thing, but I for one used to enjoy that kind of debate. Oh well...

As for the video, someone's flagged it as 'inappropriate' or something, and I'm too lazy to sign up for an account so that I can view it....

I'm a nondenomenational Christian, just because I believe in God, without a lot of "unnecessary" attachments, like how Catholics have Confession. I'm like the Diet Coke of Christianity.

I have a Mormon friend, Eric. He's a really nice guy but everyone rips on him unfairly. He's a good swimmer, but at swim meets they call him "The Stormin' Mormon," and have signs that say "Keep Stormin', Eric!"

If Eric Fuller is the "Stormin' Mormon," I am the "Sensational Nondenomenational."

...no?
