Some of you may or may not know of my knee pain that has lasted for 6 years. For those of you who don't I fell on it 6 years ago (no break I'm aware of) and it's never been the same since. The pain comes and goes for various reasons but as of lately the pain has increased. I went to my famiily doctor some years ago and without even looking at it he diagnosed it as tendinitis. The pain had gotten so bad that I made an appointment with an orthopedic. The doctor believes that it is the early stages of arthritis but he has prescribe me physical thearpy for about 5 weeks to make sure. My physical thearpists doesn't know what it is yet so he is having me do all kinds of exercises and weights to see what causes it to hurt.

I have played Pump and DDR since August of 2004 off and on. Well as of the last few months I quit or slowed down to prevent pain. I've decided lately that I love to play Pump and/or DDR so much that I will just learn to live with whatever pain I have. It's taking some time to get back on the dance floor and I get winded alot easier but I love it too much to give it up.

Be careful on what you play, although DDR/PIU is addicting and fun, it is not worth ruining your legs and not being able to walk again. But who knows, maybe it will go away after awhile of getting used to it, and working out the 'kinks'. Well good luck, and welcome back

I've have knee troubles in my right knee only for several years. It got especially bad a couple of years ago, and I went to the doctor who told me I had arthritis. I was kind of shocked (I may be older than most of you, but I'm not THAT old), but it turns out that arthritis can affect people of all ages. One beneficial side effect of my knee problem was that I learned how to keep from stomping so much. I was pretty bad about stomping before when I wanted to be very accurate and when there were fast parts.

I basically taught myself to keep from stomping by going back to very, very easy songs and slowly working up to faster ones, almost like learning to play all over again. And I essentially stopped playing very very fast songs --- I simply don't play songs that are so fast that I can't help but stomp. Being able to walk in 10 years is just more important than getting an AAAAA on OMGSUPERMAX 30003 or something.

So I would suggest looking at your play technique, and figuring out what specifically makes your knee worse. You may be able to make some simple changes to how you play that will keep you pain-free...

I used to get alot of very painful knee problems when I would play regularly. I attributed it to maybe tearing/wearing down of the cartilage. After I went back to school for my sophomore year I didn't play and my knee got much better, now I only play on occasion and I haven't had a knee problem since.

I played Pump today and finally beat Turkey March on Hard, I know it's pathetic. My knee hurt after but I've noticed my knee hurts even when I'm just walking. So I don't find that Pump increases pain above what already exists in my normal routine. I'm glad to discover this because I would love to get much better at Pump.

Just try not to think about the pain, and try to see a specialist if you have not yet. See if there is anything you can do or take to ease the pain.

Well I have had 3 physical thearpy appointments and the physical thearpists wants me to get an MRI to make sure there is no problems with any bone material in my knee. So now it all depends on the MRI as to my next few steps.

On August 9th my knee had been completely healed! God said he would do the miraculous on me and he has, my knee no longer hurts! I praise and thank the Lord. I know with faith ALL things are possible and I am now a living testimony of the healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ! I pray that all of you will receive the mircaculous in your life!

PS I will be doing more Pump and DDR now that I have no worries of my knee.

Wow, how do these "doctor-people" keep making money if Jesus has a Ph.D in ZOMGHEAL powers?

I'm glad your knee worked out its problems, my broken clavicle did the same thing.
