We all know you're grooming them for your next 5v5 team when the new counter-strike drops.
I really love CS:GO's 64 tick servers.

At work, so I'll watch that later.

And jeez, 38,000 views in a week? The video of you talking about tech at your school? Who the hell is watching it?

edit: it's at 9000! (over 9000 jokes are lame)

How's everybody been doing? It's been a real quiet week.

I've been busy at work. I spent literally an entire day on a SQL query because I am a dumbass, but what else is new?

I've spent several days working on a single SQL query before.

Of course, it was a report query that joined darned near every table in the database, and most of the time was spent poring over the results of "EXPLAIN SELECT ..." trying to come up with a way to do it that resulted in a sane query plan. I also was tweaking the indexing on the database some to make the query run reasonably. I think I ended up using several VIEWs in the end, too, in order to make the thing understandable.

Spending a day on a query is entirely reasonable :)
A normality test:
+++ATH
If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

Is it sad if I kind of want my name to be chosen?

Is it sad if I think the expression 'is it sad' is super annoying?

So I recently remembered this old game for the Gamecube that I absolutely adored when I was younger called Go! Go! Hypergrind! which featured anthropomorphic characters designed by Spumco (of Ren and Stimpy fame [I've never watched Ren and Stimpy]) that Skateboarded and you scored points by hurting them in cartoonish ways or something. It was published by Atlus and developed by some unsearchable group called Poponchi.
So basically I have very fond memories of this game and playing it with the few friends I had when I was a young child.
The lame thing is if I search for stuff regarding it it's just furry crap since the characters are anthropomorphic and I know the game was mediocre so if I try going back to it it'll suck and ruin all my fond memories of it.
It did have an awesome theme song, however.

Anyone else have some random obscure game they like, but seemingly nobody else has heard of?

Just bought this for myself: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834158073

Really good specs for a laptop. Can play games and take it to LANs when Diablo 3 comes out so I don't have to lug my PC around, edit videos at school or wherever, HDMI out to watch streams or whatever else on my big TV, etc. It's recertified but all the reviews say it's basically brand new, and I got 2 year warranty just in case. Can't wait.

edit: Also, it seems Brian and his troop went to North Korea the same time Kim Jong Il died. Secret agent Brian?
