Who's that talking in the library?
Who's that talking in my library?
Is that you? No I won't put you out
Cause what would this place be without my muse
Nothing special, every book in here I wrote
Some I'm not too proud of some I wish I could burn
So many pages I wrote, wish I could revise them
But there's no erasing and the best advice I got
Was keep writing, and keep living, and keep loving
And when the ink dries and the pages turn to dust
So will we turn to dust, so will we dust, dust
Who's that laughing in my library?
Who's that laughing in my library?
Is that you? No I won't put you out
Cause what would this place be without your smile
Nothing special, I fell in love with you girl
You let yourself inside with no respect for privacy
You said there's too much on my mind
Then you ripped out a page and set that shit on flame
I quit writing, I kept living, I kept loving
And when the ink dries and the pages turn to dust
So will we turn to dust, so will we dust, dust

Dear LJ,
My mom saw the marks on my arm from where I donated plasma and flipped the fuck out thinking that I was doing heroin or some such nonsense. Look, I imagine Smack is expensive as hell and I would not be able to reasonably afford it even if I wanted to shoot up. I have never done a drug in my life and my mom knows this but holy fuck there's a needle mark in my arm I'm all of a sudden a drug addict.
I told her I donated plasma and that really didn't go over any better. Now I'm going to get a disease from a needle and my veins are going to be scarred and hardened forever to the point where I won't be able to donate blood let alone plasma.
My mom has really goofy opinions about things she does not understand. As a frame of reference she had 56k dial-up internet up until March of this year because she thought she would have to do rewiring and tear out walls and shit; there is a coax jack not more than 7 feet away from where the family computer sits. I'm pretty sure she also pays for her AOL account because she doesn't want to change her e-mail address.
When I become a parent I know I am going to be the exact same way about teleporters or flying cars or something and it's going to be cool as hell.
Let's post stories about our parents and their views on certain topics.

My dad claims he has never played video game and proudly shares this like an eager Cub Scout whenever discussion turns to games. My mom types emails in subject lines and would rather fast for a day than struggle with a Captcha. We suck at technology.

And yet your parents have made more money than either of us ever will in our lifetimes, probably even combined. We should have never played video games! You know, no one has ever become smarter by playing a video game and I now lament over all the time I have spent not improving my mind and body.
Don't subject lines cut off after so many characters? How does that even work?

I'll get an email like
Subject: Hi Chad im looking forward to seeing you this weekend, just let me know if you want to bring a friend... dad says hi - Mom
You can quit playing video games whenever you want. Kick the habit.

I was under the impression that you had replaced video games in your life with anime and sweet, sweet pussy.

Riot teaches 12 hours a day, sleeps 8 hours a day, plays MMOs 4 hours a day, lesson plans 1 hour a day, does miscellaneous tasks 2 hours a day, and makes love 1 hour a day.
He is my muse and a time lord.

Yes. Why replace when you can have your pussy and eat it, too.

I can't imagine Riot and his wife making love but if they ever did I suppose there would be a lot of squawking and weird noises involved.
This is Riot's schedule IMO:
Wake up at 6am, shower, maybe breakfast
Drop wife off at school, proceed to his own school
Teach from 7:45am til lunch time
Eat packed lunch and peruse the internet
Teach til 2:30pm
Get home at 3:00pm with wife in tow
Play fighting games til 4:00pm
Grade homework until dinner is made / he makes dinner
Eat dinner
Finish grading homework
Go over tomorrow's lesson plan
Watch TV / Play video games
Move to bedroom, snuggle with wife, no fuckin'
Fall asleep with TV on

Merk is pretty close.
6:00 A.M - Wake up, take a shower to get my hair did.
6:30 A.M - Eat breakfast, make poops, prepare packed lunch.
6:50 A.M - Leave to drop Meg off and go to school.
7:00 - 7:30 A.M - Run around getting prepared for the day, making copies, looking over plans, etc.
7:30 - 12:10 - Teach some kayds. I spend this time forcing kids to be interested in things or telling them not to get out of their seats and mess with each other.
12:10 - 12:40 - Short lived lunch. I get back to my room around 12:38 to check my phone and get one post in on IndyDDR, usually responding to a funny Merkism.
12:45 - 2:15 - Finish last block of the day. I am now able to breathe and not be "on stage" anymore.
2:15 - 3:00 - Meetings at school.
3:00 - anywhere between 3:30 to 5:30 - Stay at school finishing up grades from the day or getting copies ready for the next day. Until Meg can drive again, I usually pick her up around 5, but she sometimes is so busy she stays until 7 or 8pm.
4:00 or 5:00 (or whenever I get home) - 7:00 - AFK leech pvp points in Rift battlegrounds/Check internet forums more thoroughly/etc. while I play fighting games simultaneously on the Xbawx.
7:00 - 8:00 - Start making or eating dinner, accompanied by Daily Show and Colbert Report rerun from last night.
8:00 - 10:00 - Get any excess grading done, play a little Tactics Ogre on PSP, and watch TV shows until about 10pm.
10:00 - Go to bed, pat Meg on the back and say "Love you!" and roll over and go to sleep because I have to wake up and go back to work the next day.
A lot of times, like today, I'm still out doing stuff for school in some way shape or form. Tonight I went to the 7th and 8th grade football game to record footage for video journalism, so I was basically at school and then the game from 7am to 7pm. There's always some event or something to help out at or cover for journalism. I get paid for 7:30 am - 3:00 pm, but we put in many more volunteer hours than that.

I noticed a lot of people on the internet being a/pursuing a teaching career, yet I have never met an internet-literate teacher. Why is this?

Because they're good at lying?
So Riot, do you enjoy it? It seems like pissing around with kids and spending all day at school probably wears you out.
Yeah I work at a middle school too, but here I have zero responsibility, thus I don't really have to deal with all of that.
