Re: [Grubb's] Random Thoughts of the Day
I actually had a pretty good session yesterday. I fucked up AM-3P the two times I played it but I got far on TLoM extra stage and I pushed myself to do a lot of stamina shit.

Since I have a job now I can complain about it here, right?
Being a cashier for more than 4 hours is very tedious.
Good thing I have 6-8 hour shifts.
Next week I'm scheduled 4-10 on Thursday AND Saturday.
Plus school.
wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I worked at blockbuster in high school while I was in marching band (about 3 hours a day of practice), and had a serious girlfriend (I married the crap out of her) and a WoW addiction. Never had much time to play or be freeeeee as a little bird. Blockbuster sucked because they paid me like 5.50 an hour to argue with dumb angry people about late fees, especially the hillbillies that had to rent the defensive driving video for 45 bucks and cost that much for late fees as well. I also had to clean or the drop box which people seemed to love to mess with.... Mashed potatos and red juice all over... Really? Worst part was just the pressure to always be pushing promotions aggressively even though nobody wanted them since blockbuster was already near bankruptcy in 2003.

I'm guessing you work at Kroger or something. If it's on the west side Kroger then hot damn I shop there like every day.Pokebis wrote:Since I have a job now I can complain about it here, right?

They're having me work the help desk now while people are out.
I am reminded now of all the stupid fucking questions people ask in tech support.
"I have no idea why your password didn't work before. Perhaps you were typing it in wrong?"

Menards. You could buy wood and build a cab or something. But you can't hold up the line either, so you gotta' be in an' out unless I'm on a break.

I drive by Menards every day on the way to Kroger. I will think of you every time I see it now.

Re: [Grubb's] Random Thoughts of the Day
I often wonder when it's all said and done and I see my life flash before my eyes if I will regret wasting my youth on these silly music games. I could have done something with my life, I could have been someone important if I just gave a shit about stuff that matters. But alas, here I am reveling in escapism and the futility of living in a class society.
I sit in my cubicle here. When I die, they will put my body in a box and dispose of it in the cold ground. And in all the million ages to come, I will never breathe, or laugh, or twitch again. So won't you run and play with me here among the teeming mass of humanity? The universe has spared us this moment.

Merk you are quite the armchair existentialist. You remind me of the book The Stranger by Camus. Your ramblings are very postmodern and I feel like we should explore this. You should read White Noise by Don DeLillo, as well as my favorite book House of Leaves. I feel like you could appreciate White Noise. Like literally read the wiki for White Noise and it's basically everything you talk about on here. Mortality obsession, simulated reality, the depravity and novelty of university life, media saturation and consumerism, etc. It's a great book and I give it two thumbs up

Why the fuck have you not added House of Leaves into your curriculum?

Re: [Grubb's] Random Thoughts of the Day
Because it's dark as hell and loaded with lots of sex, drugs, violence, and themes and allegories that 99% of adult society wouldn't "get" let alone 12 year olds. Basically I would be fired the night the kids took the book home.

Edit: Trying to be less of a hater here...Riot wrote:Because it's dark as hell and loaded with lots of sex, drugs, violence, and themes and allegories that 99% of adult society wouldn't "get" let alone 12 year olds. Basically I would be fired the night the kids took the book home.

I did not read your original message but I'm sure it was very sarcastic and the word "pseudo-intellectual" was thrown around in some way shape or form. However you can't judge if you don't read the whole thing and attempt to look outward to connect all the metaphors and allegories going on.
