This whole Lauren Spierer bandwagon just pisses me off more and more. Nobody would think twice if she weren't a pretty privileged white girl. What students could do is stop throwing parties for a few weeks and let the police focus on doing their jobs, but that would mean a whole mote of sacrifice. It's so much easier and convenient to change a profile picture in the name of 'awareness.'
Yeah, I hope Lauren is found, but no more than any of the other multitudes of other missing people. Many of which didn't feel compelled to go out underage drinking and walk home late at night.
In 2008, 5,214 people were reported missing in Indianapolis.

So IU jerks are trying to get their own
Wade Steffey? Well, us Purdue peeps already beat you to the white-well-to-do-college-student-goes-home-from-a-party-drunk-and-goes-missing-and-have-media-and-campus-go-fucking-bananas-over-it-and-in-the-meantime-the-student-paper-puts-his-face-on-the-front-page-for-freakin'-ever-and-during-the-search-multiple-students-die-in-car-crashes-and-shit-and-also-a-guy-is-found-dead-near-campus-
but-it's-ok-because-it's-not-Wade-Steffey-and-eventually-many-months-later-it's-found-that-he-
drunkenly-stumbled-into-a-utility-closet-and-got-electrocuted-to-death-and-his-family-
won-a-$500,000-settlement-from-the-University... thing. Anyway, Purdue already won that battle of stupidity.
Did it sucks for his family/friends? Yes. Did he deserve to be plastered all over the news (he was in the Exponent (student pap) nearly every day for many months) and have so damn many people care, to the detriment of other more newsworthy news? Hell no. I especially went over the edge when there was a front-page story in the paper saying that a body was found near the river, but don't worry... it's not Wade Steffey... just a guy who killed himself.
Wait, sorry. Your remark and my quick looking into this current story awoke my annoyance with the circus surrounding Wade Steffey. It looks like IU is now getting it in the form of Lauren Spierer.
EDIT:
I just realized that Steffey was from Bloomington, so I'll just say that Bloomington already got a head start and is now trying to secure the lead for IU.

Ha... I was going to just link that in response to your initial comment, but then I realized I was complaining about them doing it about a guy.

I wonder if there is a way to Photoshop me in to Ho's kitty avatar. I think that would be silly and appropriate.

Jesus Christ I have had the worst farts these past two mornings. I really hope no one walks by my little area in the office here.

I moved all my essential stuff (furniture, clothes, and computer) to the new place I'm living with two room mates and a dog.
The room I got is like a perfect little 10 x 10 square and it's absolutely perfect for me. All my furniture fits nicely and the layout of all my stuff is simple and effective. My big TV is a welcome addition to the living room and I anticipate that this will be the best living situation I've had in a long while.
Plus it's $400 a month straight up (utilities are included) compared to the $965 + utilities I am paying for my Indy place. God damn that was a horrible decision.
I can finally get back into some bank once I rid myself of this Indy apartment. Here's my monthly budget:
+ $1026 take home from work
+ $436 from unemployment (I can still get it since I qualify as underemployed)
- $400 for rent + utilities
- $50 for big TV debt (hell yeah finance that shit 2 year no interest)
- $10 X-Box live subscription that I hardly use
- $300 for groceries (this is huge, I know, but I pretty much buy the shit my girlfriend and I make for dinner)
- $150 for gas (this varies a lot depending on how often I go to Indy / Fort Wayne)
- $150 for miscellaneous fun times (eating/drinking with bros, obviously this varies too)
-----------------------------------------
$402 left over to fuck around with
In all honesty when I had my big boy job my budget had an awfully similar bottom line. Paying that extra $600 for an apartment that was way too big for me took a huge chunk out of my big boy paycheck.
Obviously I won't be buying arcade machines and shit, but it's a relief that I won't have to count my pennies like I have been the last few months. I can relax on the EVO Vegas trip and buy without remorse.
Post your rich man budgets.

Why aren't we friends on LIVE?

I've only ever used it for MAHVEL and Street Fighter. Both of these games are unplayable over the internet as it stands so I'm strongly considering just canceling my subscription. I am literally never on unless I'm trying to play Riot over the internet in Marvel.
But I am holding out for Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Online Edition.
