Sometimes if you go to the manufacturer's website they will offer discounts. Try Sony (a little expensive, but sometimes you can get a good deal), Toshiba, and HP.

That is true, but I do have some concerns with those respective companies. In the case of Sony, like Dell, they had a nasty habit of putting both the GPU and CPU right by each other in the past. In addition, the moment Nvidia is brought into the equation all of the companies automatically pull out some Sub 1.5 Ghz computer (if it was i7 I wouldn't mind too much, but these are usually ranging from the new 'Pentium' value brand to a much older Core 2 Duo) and expect a price tag of $1100+ to be acceptable. The general feel with the larger companies is that they expect people to accept Intel's GPUs or low end Radeon Mobility cards (Both considered to be class 3 cards on
http://www.notebookcheck.net) to be the standard. The most troubling thing about these companies is that they are notorious for locking out driver updates for GPUs and not putting updated versions on their respective support sites.
Edit: New Laptop Get! The largest irony of it all is that of all of the places around, BEST BUY had the Asus Model I was looking for and at a hell of a price at that. (
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Lapt ... &cp=1&lp=1) While it is listed online at $899, it was $809 in store. (This is indeed bizarro world as I remember back when the prices were lower on the website.)

Hey whoever brought a Groupon using my referral link - thank you so much. I didn't expect anything to come of my little link but I'm happy you found something useful on the site!

I thought railguns used magnets for propulsion so whatever projectile you were using didn't leave any exhaust that could be detected by radar.
What the fack is with all that dust and exhaust and shit coming out of that payload? Has the pseudo-science of Metal Gear Solid lied to me?

The green is plasma. Perhaps the mechanism to generate the energy to launch the slug was exhausted in test fire? Perhaps the rail was fired in the same frame as when an enemy players rocket collided? Quake screenshots can be difficult follow sometimes.

Remember when I had all the time in the world to post during work because nothing was going on last week?
Take that, now imagine the opposite, and that's how today has gone thus far! It's very productive but very busy

I'm always busy at work because I do manly stuff all day. Most of the time anyway.
Manufacturing blows.

Joe is everyone very manly and surly at your factory? Do they bring their lunch in a little box, ogle pin-up girls, complain about their wives, and swear incessantly but deep down they have a heart of gold and a zest for America? Do more than half of your co-workers smoke?
Because that's how I picture your average factory worker.
