Yeah I remember the hurt butt one. Hoooooly shit was that a really awkward moment. I think you raged out more over that one than the time in my avatar.
<---------------------
I assume that's when you bruised your ego
Anyway, back on topic, outside of this potential arthritic knee problem I have never, ever fucked anything up playing DDR.
Today's been a really good indyDDR day I'm glad we have a cornucopia of people posting.

I have terrible knees.
But I also ran track in middle/high school, bowl frequently (any bowler knows how terrible sliding can be on your knee), knee/wake/snowboard and have bladed since I was little. So who knows how much of that could be linked to DDR/ITG?

It has always been my dream to have someone cartoonize my avatar, complete with muggy colors and quasi-pixelation.

Sloooooow fucking day here. I've been here for about 4 hours and have a whopping 25 minutes of work completed on my time sheet. I am legitimately worried that management is going to notice this and reprimand me for something that's out of my control. It's not my fault that our clients aren't breaking their computers!
I'm praying that shit will pick up in the afternoon.

So you may have heard of this site called "Groupon" that is very much like Woot! except for local places. You basically sign up and they'll e-mail you daily with a coupon for a local restaurant or other entertainment venue. The savings are usually pretty significant - for example today's deal is 50% off a $40 purchase at Adobo, an upscale Mexican place in Indy. I would have posted this in the "free stuff" thread but it's not exactly totally free so I'll keep this costly shit out of that special little thread.
Anyway apparently there's a referral bonus where you get $10 if you refer a friend. I'm totally down with starting a referral chain.

It seems like it might be an interesting endeavor to try. It seems a lot like the coupons you find on restaurant.com which have been absolutely baller in my experience.

I was already planning on scooping up today's Groupon. I <3 Adobo! If you go, get the guacamole. It tastes as good as the show they put on making it. Well, it's not really a show, I guess, but they're so fast at doing it it's like...whoa!

Heard this song today and made me think about my childhood:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cJe5v5lLKk
What other videogame music makes you hearken back to better days?!
-FF4 Elemental Lord Boss Theme:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rb5hrCUTJ4Q
-FF6 Atma Weapon Theme (probably one of my favorite game songs of all time)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=585IUvyDkZo
-Earthbound's Onett Theme:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNGY_fvX ... re=related
-Chrono Trigger, Frog's Theme (so good! along with pretty much everything else from Chrono Trigger):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caRKvQAyU7M
-Ultima Online, Forest theme (basically any time you were out adventuring in the woods... miss this game so much, nothing competes):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJGMHROZ ... re=related
-FF6 Boss theme:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuHuD5Ahjck
These don't necessarily remind me of my childhood since they are new, but the songs are very very good
-FF13's boss theme from :40-1:07 builds so nicely:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU-GfmEftU4
-Lost Odyssey has AMAZING music by Uematsu, one of his best soundtracks imo. I'd say this game is pretty much the successor to FFX, and what XI would have been if it were a single player game. It's made by Sakaguchi and all the old FF alumni. Here are some of my favorites:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgxFLMM9TLw (2:20-2:40 rocks especially the trumpet lol)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nQ0Zcft ... re=related (normal battle theme... beauteeeful!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu3bbpZm ... re=related (1:20 sad =((((( but purdy)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySy9busI74E (great final boss music... guitar starting around 1 min is awesome)
k i'm done i'm getting nostalgic. merk you need to play lost odyssey imo

^^^ I'll listen to those beats sometime when I'm not at work.
Riot I just got FF13 from Chad. Should I play that or Lost Odyssey? The helmets of those soldiers in LO are a real turn-off. Seriously why are they giant dongs?

They are both good. Final Fantasy XIII is faster-paced, more crazy battles, and a bit more cinematic (the graphics are great). Lost Odyssey is slower-paced (turn-based, pretty old school... reminiscent of SNES Final Fantasy gen), but has some great music, and some of the best writing I've seen during the dream sequences, which are short stories written about the main character's various experiences with people throughout his 1000 years living in the world. They are really sad and almost made me cry a few times =(((( they are really well written. The game really reminds me of a mix between FF6 and FF10... the storyline and design of things is very FF6-esque, and the way the graphics and moving around in the world is handled is reminiscent of FFX, and like I said I have a feeling it would have been what FFXI would have looked like if it were to be the first new single player FF on the next gen systems. I really like that it's more character-driven instead of plot-driven. Kaim is one of my favorite main characters, and you really feel sad for him by the end. It's pretty serious and dark, but the character Jansen is hilarious. One of the funniest characters I've ever seen in a game, and his voice acting is awesome.
Both games have moments of inherent annoying jappiness when it comes to characters and voice acting, but Lost Odyssey is a bit more mature and darker. But LO is probably my favorite RPG of the last 5 years. They're both worth playing! The only bad parts about LO for me: sometimes the kid characters are annoying (but I hate all kid characters, mainly because of their voice acting), the main villain doesn't look cool (in fact he looks pretty lame), sometimes the turn-based slow pace can wear you out I guess if you're not used to oldschool RPGs anymore. Load times could be annoying, but if you install to harddrive it's not bad at all. The game is difficult but not blisteringly hard, which is good... keeps you on your toes. Same with FFXIII, both these games have hard boss battles that you have to really think about. Other than that it's pretty awesome in my opinion.
p.s. both Mass Effect games are pretty great as well should you ever find yourself short on gaymz

RIP: My Laptop!
Well, time to buy a new one. The main specs that I'm looking for is that it is atleast Core i5 with a Nvidia GPU. If anybody has seen any good affordable laptops, feel free to post them up.
