Well, I think dr88 plays. I have debated going back in but it would take a far more active player group to convince me to do so. If anything I would rather play jubeat, SDVX, and Pop'N as I know my significant other would definitely play them along with being generally more fun.

Mang there are a shit load of people on PSun! I don't rival anyone locally since I don't think anyone on here other than me is on PSun but I rival a bunch of Texas people and it's pretty fun to compare scores within the game itself instead of having to go to VJ Army. I like to use my rivals as a little barometer on how good my scores are:

JONZZZ - If I beat this guy I got a really, really good score. Easily a score in the top 30 players on the server.
ZAXOUR - If I beat this guy I got a real solid score
PSYC - If I beat this guy I got a good score, better than most people
GEM - This guy and I are about even, he's a good point of reference to see how much I am improving
PUH. - If I lose to this guy then my score is pretty bad

Got a great random on Aurora [a] and hard cleared it with just 22 misses. Hard cleared SPECIAL SUMMER CAMPAIGN [a] which is one of those 12s that's not really a 12, sort of like Ristaccia.

At this point, I think a new Beatmania release happening would be an accomplishment in itself given what's happening at Konami.

Beat has such a low cost to produce and it's still big enough in Japan that I imagine they'll be milking this cash cow for as long as possible.

Inference? That's all I'm doing since there has been a relatively recent arcade release and there hasn't been a home release since...Empress? What is that, like 5-6 years ago now?

Although I really don't know what he's referring to, which is why I said "I think." He references something happening at Konami. I have no idea what he's talking about. I haven't been following Konami or general music game news lately due to a lack of caring.

Brian, there is quite a bit of turmoil happening at Konami. Kojima has been reduced to a contract employee for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and showed the door effectively, Silent Hills has been cancelled, and there are murmurs of some nasty stuff going on as per https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMK-kajdgMA which has me concerned. I'm not just talking about a home release, I'm talking about future arcade iterations as well if all of this is indeed true. What has people alarmed are the death by buzzword statements Konami has been doing.
