Hardcore deaths. Nobody getting too mad yet.

If you're like me and get super mad, probably best to avoid hardcore I suppose.

Yeah I don't plan on doing hardcore until the game has been figured out and becomes a science.

I want to play medium core... something where the death penalty is more than a laughable 10% item durability but less than dead forever. Lose a level (but keep unlocked skills)? Lose equipped item with highest value? Both?

Critical mass getting patched.

Hey people, don't bother trying to find a good build. Any build, regardless of effort to set up, that results in completing Inferno will be patched.

auuuhhghghhhghg fuck. They seriously need to make shitty classes better and not nerf Wizards. I'll have to see how the passive works in action before making a strong opinion, but seriously why even have that passive if it hardly triggers? They are taking viable builds out of the game because of the simple fact that they are viable and they don't want people to win.

On the bright side I'm glad I didn't blow a shit load of gold on increase % to crit items like I was going to!

You know what's funny? You can sell shit on the RMAH for actual US dollars, Blizzard takes a cut, and the United States government is 100% fine with this, however you can NOT play poker on the internet for actual US dollars because the US government says its gambling. Does anyone else here see the irony?

You are trying to apply logic to Congress.

I suggest you stop.

Making it unfun for everyone, while fair, shouldn't be the goal in a video game. This is a PvE game, I do not see a problem with each class having a strong build. As it stands no one can get the loot in Inferno that they need to make Inferno actually doable for non-gimmicky builds and late hell / A1 Inferno loot doesn't cut it. It doesn't help the fact that level 50 gear is common as shit in Inferno and finding a level 60 item, especially one with passable stats, is hard as fuck to find.

Right now it's pretty much get 60, beat hell, and then play the auction house game so you can buy loot off the early adopters who were able to get the decent shit off of A3/A4 mobs before viable builds got nerfed. When you make other builds usable, the outlandish shit won't be as outlandish.

I was wondering about gems and their role on inferno. The Radiant Star bonuses are pretty damn good. From a post on another board:
Say you wanted to start with Flawless Square emeralds (the highest that drop, the rest have to be crafted) and were to convert it to 1 Radiant Star. Assuming each flawless square emerald was 5500 and each tome was 720, it would cost 20,583,820 gold to create ONE radiant star.

The items needed to go from Flawless square to radiant star are:
729 Flawless Square Emerald
1631 Tomes of Secrets
15,400,000 gold
Source: http://starcrafttools.net/diablo-gem-calc.php

Now imagine how much a Radiant Star ruby will cost. I think people need to start looking at GP they way we looked at XP. Even if you don't have the best loot drops, accumulating wealth will be the ticket to getting the best stuff from the auction house. GP will not be worthless for a loooooooooooooooooooong time. You can tell because I used many 'o's.

I honestly wonder what is going to happen to gold once the RMAH goes live. Right now at least it seems that gold is actually valuable which was never the case in previous Diablo games.

Blizzard has done a pretty good job with sinks. I don't think it will lose its value for a while.

I don't know, would you rather sell your loot for five US American rape dollars that you can use to buy a happy meal with or would you rather sell it for 1s and 0s in a video game? This game is very much a seller's market and once real world currency comes into play there is no incentive to choose fake money over real money which makes the fake money effectively worthless.

*IF* there is ever an exchange rate for gold then gold will have some sort of real world value if you can liquidate it but I am not sure if there are plans to allow the selling of gold in the RMAH.
