Ghost Dad is still on IMO. Hanks is imagining all the shit that Ghost Dad does, him being hit on the head by a shovel is just his internal psycho justification for going into Kill Kill Kill mode. Hanks clearly has some issues going on, note that he killed his sister after she had talked to Deb, his Mr. Hyde got suspicious of her and killed her despite his Dr. Jekyll never ever wanting to do something like that. I'm pretty sure that's what the whole scene where Hanks was riding his bike along and saw Deb with a gun getting into her car was all about.

I love the little voice-overs in this show and how they oftentimes just fill in the blanks for idiots who watch this show. I want the voice-overs next season to be all like:

"
Ok Dexter, let's go to the crime scene.

*A crime scene is a place where a crime was committed*

I'll drive my car

*A car is a method of transport with four wheels*
"

You've probably all read that this show got renewed for two more seasons. That probably means there isn't anything baller happening at the end of this season but if they consciously decide to end the series at season 8 then the next two seasons could be cool as hell or a giant clusterfuck. Either way I'll enjoy the show!

In any case, I hope this upcoming episode finally reveals the Ghost Dad twist and cranks it all up to 11 like in the other seasons. They can finally put an end to all the ambiguous shit and just roll with the fact that Hanks is fucked up and we can get into his backstory, motivations, and his ultimate fate.

I'm wondering who the big bad of the series will be...

I've been thinking:

1) Jennifer Carpenter probably hates working with Michael C. Hall

2) The show kills off a major character every 2 seasons

3) Deb has been getting suspicious and pissed off at Dexter and his random outings

4) The writers threw in a "I don't think he'll [Dexter] kill me" line from Deb

5) There are obvious parallels between Hanks and Dexter, the former of which killed his sister that he loved because she could potentially ruin his psycho plans

Do... Do you think Deb will get written out?

!!! Ghost Dad confirmed !!!

I am genuinely surprised at the number of people who did not see this coming. Hey Riot, remember when your friend said that he had no idea that Olmos could be a ghost? I hope he thinks better of me now.

finally ghost-dad is shown.

Also, I'm pretty sure I'm done with this show, it's just kind of turned to shit. Nothing interesting or gripping goes down anymore, and when it does, it was not worth the previous 40 minutes of deb bawwwng to some full retard therapist.

And awww, quinns mad and him and his partner fight now! so cute! Did they switch up writers or something? And lol at that one cop fucking the hooker, you really had to stretch that shitty little sub-plot out for this long? Nobody cares. Make dexter fucking kill people.

Also, that new tech dude thinks he might be able to track down the internet protocol address of ghellars blog! Fuck man he might know how DNS works! WATCH OUT GUYS, WE HAVE A TOUGH GUY HERE

Caught the latest episode last night (lolol the internet confirmed ghost dad for me) and yeah the writing was pretty shitty. This show is bogged down because it has to cater to people who watch TV (ie Idiots) and the writers I guess assumed that no one has ever seen Sixth Sense or Fight Club or pays any attention to the big obvious signs of "erp derp this mans aren't real." The biggest mistakes for me were that they blew their Ghost Dad load too late and they spent way too much time hinting at the big twist that everyone saw coming. The whole fucking Nebraska episode was one giant "HAY GHOST PEOPLE APPEAR TO DO THINGS FROM A PSYCHO'S POINT OF VIEW" message that the writer's will use when a fucking smug retard goes, "UM, but how can Olmos paint stuff and pick up flashlights if he's a GHOST?! Hmm? HMM?!" God damn it.

Best episode of the season? Tooth Fairy Killer by far. That episode was the monster-of-the-week old school Dexter that made this show great in the first two seasons. We learned a little bit about the protagonist, we got to see him stalk and kill a dude, the dude was old (a first for the show, I believe), and we weren't beat over the head with the prabs over at Miami Metro. I don't think we've seen Dexter stalk and kill a dude since that episode. Obviously he killed the dude that shot Mos Def and the Redneck Motel Owner but those were sloppy spur-of-the-moment kills that used to be rare on this show.

The technobabble stuff doesn't bother me so much. I'm sure doctors get pissed off at show's like Grey's Anatomy, ER, and House who dramatize and simplify complex medical shit. I can't expect the writers to realistically portray the inner workings of the Internet to an audience of overprivileged, Showtime affording morons.

But hey, whatevs, I've learned to accept that it's hard to top the good seasons of this show and I would probably be complaining just as much if every season was "LOL Dexter is going to get caught OH WAIT [insert Deus-ex-machine here]." Let's talk about the good stuff:

- Ghost Dad load is finally blown so now we have a good three episodes where Hanks is the official bad guy.
- Hack the Gibson intern is a shady puppy-dog eyed mother fucker. There is definitely some sort of ulterior motive for this guy who apparently is the one who bought the ITK hand.
- Chicago cop has not done anything of substance.

Predictions:

- Hot Intern was scheduled for two more episodes so some shit has to go down with her otherwise she will end up being like the nanny from Season 5 all over again.
- Hack the Gibson intern is an aspiring serial killer who figures out Dexter
- Deb is going to lose her job as Lieutenant because she's determined to not be fit for the job through the psychiatrist's recommendation.
- Someone in Miami Metro is going to die, probably Quinn, and they will be replaced by Chicago cop.
- Dexter is going to kill Hanks to satisfy himself and leave Olmos out to thaw for Miami Metro to find and take credit for stopping DDK. I'm pretty sure the public is unaware of Hanks' involvement in the killings.

No idea! That's the thing, they gave her a bunch of screen time but nothing came of it. Her role in the show was, "Dexter has a kid and we have to explain how this kid is getting fed while Dexter is never home." By season's end she was still there but when this season rolled around she was gone and returned to her home planet just like Lumen - no one ever spoke of her again.

Just like what will probably happen to Hot Intern. She will be given a bunch of screen time only to serve as an explanation as to how Hack the Gibson intern got the ITK hand which will be used as a plot device to show that he's a secret psycho.

And no one will ever speak of her again.

I'm guessing the current babysitter is going to be offed by Hack the Gibson intern to show the audience, "Yes, you see? He's a bad guy. He killed someone. That hand he has was the ITK hand that we talked about for a while. The ITK was a serial killer. The ITK is Dexter's brother. Dexter is a show about a serial killer who kills people who escaped justice. Dexter is the aforementioned serial killer and your show's protagonist." This show cannot fathom subtlety.

Everyone is saying that Edward James Olmos is going to be Collin Hanks' "ghost dad" a la Harry is to Dexter. Posting this now so we can forever remember if people called it by the second episode or not.
I want to remind everyone that people were calling the twist by the second episode which aired on 10/09/2011.

I'm usually bad about seeing twists coming, but this was too obvious.

If Hack the Gibson becomes the new antagonist I might need to put the show down. The movie 'Hackers' was filled with unrealistic-yet-fun computalk that made for a story I couldn't possibly take seriously. I will not settle for a programmer that accessed the mainframe using untraceable firewalls who can edit court records and police data to get Dexter in trouble. Dexter makes/made a solid effort to avoid this level of pretend by trying to make our protagonist a real person who lives in the real world. I will put the writers of this show on my table.

Please make the next killer Will Smith.

You know, I can't tell if the writers are actually dumb or if they are self-aware and they're trying to play to the masses.

I'm still going to watch this show because there's something about it that I like. I think I want this show to be well written so much (it was at one point) that I'll stick with it until it jumps the shark. I still find Dexter (the character) compelling but it's probably because he has been casted well - Michael C. Hall is honestly a good and dreamy actor.

This show needs another Shin-Doakes and not these half-assed knock offs. It's been a long time since there's been any danger of Dexter being caught and this show needs to bring that feeling back.

Do actors even try? I get so annoyed when I see characters playing video games on TV and they're mashing the shit out of the controller.

I wonder if Quinn is dunzo. They're really making his character out to be the worst kind of person.

Question for the forum:

Is there some list out there that Travis is following? I did not go to church, and couldn't find a clear order of events anywhere. I'd like to know where the series is headed, but I am of the chosen people and did not receive goy teachings.
