You make it sound like it's a total injustice or something. Even if the history isn't "correct" anymore, what's not to like about Thanksgiving?
-Days off school/work
-Food, and free food in some cases
-Good shows and sports on TV

You may not be big into football, but those three things listed above are great to me.

I'm not saying the holiday doesn't have good aspects to it, I'm just saying we shouldn't pervert a holidays intentions by saying 'LOL this holiday should be about football instead!' That's taking something that's supposed to have meaning, and replacing it with something that's trivial.

That's even worse than how I feel about the church bastardizing pagan holidays as their own, and claiming WE the original practitioners are liars and godless sinners. At least they're attempting to replace a religion with a religion....not a family holiday with football.

Most people I play against are hormonally raging 17 year olds or a split between real nerdy mid 20 year olds or some big decent-looking guy you would never expect to play a videogame. The CS:S community is weird, and for the most part a lot less nerdy than other gaming communities, in the fact that half the people look like they model for Hollister or something...

I'm pretty good at the European stuff, but when it starts asking for like Micronesia and African stuff I am in the dark.

As far as FPS go, most of the people that play them are like, college students and frat boy types. The 12 year old uber-nerds play Everquest.

But the frat boy types only play halo. That's the only one they can understand.
I've been playing FPS's since they were conceived...I Just typically don't get into the multiplayer aspect of it.
