I've got one question...a friend of mine once said that drummers don't like each other. Is this an overgeneralization, or is there a grain of truth to it...?

There is alot of truth in that, yes. Alot of drummers are competitive to see who is better than the other, While guitarists and other instrumentalists like to jam together and make music.

That's where "drum offs" come into play.

On the flip side, the largest single-instrument organizations are almost universally drumlines. (Assuming we don't count choirs.)

So plenty of drummers don't get along, but enough do (for some definition of enough).

Lol I guess I'm different than most skaters, drummers, et cetera- but I don't give a shit who's better. I like to make music, that would be the general reason to play a musical instrument in the first place. I get along well with other drummers because I don't try to start shit. It's generally arrogant egotistical types that try to start anything, and if you steer clear of them you should be good.
