Welp! Bunch of shit happened!
- Mos Def got written out surprisingly early
- ITK comes back as Ghost Bro (called it)
- Trinity's son comes back next episode (called it)
- Quinn is one hilariously awesome mudda fudda and wants to make babbies with statutory asses
- Hack the Gibson intern is all like, "Dexter is my bishiiiiii~~"
- Ghost Dad 2.0 is still probably going to happen
- Colin Hanks is kind of getting interesting with his rebellion against Ghost Dad
- We learned how to flamingo a punk ass
- Dexter is not a good brother
- Dexter is going to go full blown psycho
I hope the show takes the plunge and actually has Dexter do some ballsy reckless psycho stuff. In next week's preview he's chilling with his dead brother and firing a gun (which never happens) so we could see a drastic change in our protagonist. I wonder if they're going to make a goofy twist where Jonah Mitchell actually killed Rita instead of Trinity which would be kind of meh IMO. Jonah does know Dexter's real name now (not Kyle Butler) so it'll be interesting to see how he figured out who he was.
I don't know, I really don't know where the show is going to go but I hope they take the good thing they started doesn't get squandered or reset to the status quo come season's end.

I'm kind of wondering where they're going with Quinn this season. The writers are making him out to be an asshole so I think they might have him get fired and replaced by Doakes 2.0. He could possibly get killed by psycho Dexter but I don't know if they'll go that far. This show seems to kill off a major character every 2 seasons (Doakes and Rita respectively) so with all the shit going on this season it's hard to tell who it could be, but it'll probably be Quinn.

Ehhhh... Not bad, but forgettable. There're only 5 episodes left, and the big-bad of the season is still veiled in mystery. His motivations are only hinted to have some finality. Fortunately the last episode of the season looks promising based on the name alone.
I like shows that setup an end of the world scenario. Dexter and Travis are forced to confront each other's ghost dads to see whose sense of faith is stronger. When it looks like the end, Dexter finds a mote of light and convinces Travis to confront ghost daddy and stop his plans. Travis ends up sacrificing himself, despite Dexter trying to save him, saying, "This is the only way... Thank you Dexter... for showing me... the light." Something catches fire and Travis passes out. Dexter selflessly saves Travis's life, risking getting caught, and manages to slip away. Travis tells the police he was saved by an angel and joins his sister to help kids be things like firemen and Transformers. Dexter watches Travis inspire goodness in the Children and thinks about Harrison's dark passenger.
Season 7 starts with Harrison being kidnapped.

I haven't seen it yet but from what I've read this week was a filler episode and that ITK goes away and holy shit am I disappointed that they took an awesome plot line and shot it down in a single episode.
I thought we'd get at least a good three episodes out of ITK.

I did see the episode last night but work is coming to an end and I need to get out of here soon so I can't make a huge post about it.
The episode was filler, yes, but I enjoyed the bro adventures of Dexter and ITK. A lot of dumb, extremely plot-convenient shit happened but shit like that doesn't bother me so much and I enjoy just losing myself in the Dexter-verse and accept all the bad writing as, "lol Dexter" and I am perfectly fine with it.
I was ultimately disappointed with the episode because I like the idea that ITK becomes the Ghost Bro and Dexter goes about being a hedonistic jackass in the first couple of seasons. I felt like the whole Jonah thing left off on an unresolved note and I hope he makes another appearance as someone that can point Dexter out as a murderer since he now officially knows that Dex killed Trinity.
I kind of like the big bad this season and I hope they go more into Hanks' motivations - there's a real Norman Bates feel to him and I like how he's conflicted unlike the other big bads who pretty much all had no remorse. Ghost Dad 2.0 is pretty much official and I'm hoping that the obvious twist gets revealed in the "Getting Gellar" episode so we have at least a few episodes of denouement of this facet.
I know they are going to hit the reset button at the end of the season but God damn would it be awesome if something neat happened at the end of this season. They squandered the whole ITK AND Jonah scenarios so I really don't know how they're going to create tension for the end of this season - there's really nothing right now that threatens Dexter's identity as a serial killer being revealed. Again, the writing of this show is fairly mediocre so you never know they could tack on some out-of-leftfield shit at the end.
Quinn and Deb are going to get back together, it's obvious. Drunk Quinn was surprisingly absent this episode. But 3D Batista was there so that was pretty goofy.
It's 5pm aughohhgaslhgashahdfdfnay

Agreed with all of Merks post. Drunk quinn was awesome, as always
So where do we stand with ghost dad? When they interviewed the freed chick, doesn't she mention hearing two different people? Doesn't that rule ghost dad out?
super lol at all these pixngifz

Ghost dad is still official IMO. The writers have gone out of their way to ensure that only Hanks and Ghost Dad are shown interacting with each other. The girl that they interview was blindfolded, used ambiguous language to describe them ("I heard two voices," "The younger one was the weaker of the two," etc.), and never said she actually saw Ghost Dad. We probably have a Psycho scenario going on where Hanks is crazy and does the voice of Ghost Dad when their victims are around (Norman Bates feigned his mom's voice in Psycho as a misdirection to the audience). The whole "One guy put his knee in my back while the other forced me to drink blood" doesn't prove anything, one dude can easily do that by himself and again, blindfolded, misdirection, etc.
I'm pretty sure the writers think they are being clever and that Olmos actually being a Ghost Dad is going to be a huge twist but holy shit people figured it out by the second episode - people who watch Showtime have all seen Fight Club, trust me.

I bet he is alive and well so the audience thinks, "omg he is alive." But crazy ol' Travis dreamed up a different version.

Yeah, that wouldn't be a bad twist actually. I'm still hoping that they flesh out the big bad(s) of this season and delve into their motivations. I feel like we really don't know shit about Hanks other than:
1) He was Ghost Dad's student
2) He has a sister as his only mentioned family
3) He used to spend much more time with his sister until something happened
4) He doesn't much care for Ghost Dad anymore and the Revelations lifestyle
5) He can stick it in a waitress on their first date so he has mad game

well sheet, that episode confused the shit out of me ghost-dad wise. The fact he knocked travis out with a shovel and shit totally had me thinking once again that ghost dad is very real, but the whole ending with dexter not being able to find him in the church, fff
