That's EXACTLY what I'm saying. I'm saying that Riot surfs gaiaonline.com.

I've never been there or ebaumsworld, I got this from a friend who stole it from the CAL forums. Apparently you guys spend too much on the anime forums

I saw 300 tonight. It was superb from a movie-making standpoint. The editing, camerwork, art, colors, acting, soundtrack, it was all amazing.

The only problem is I didn't feel for a second a sense of real -combat-, sans a few scenes that weren't bastardized with slow motion. This movie was awesome, but it simultaneously made me sad that the direction of mainstream action movies is that which requires no physical or martial talent; only great editing. Sure, the spartans were all beefed up and undoubtedly worked hard for there roles; but what part of that made you think it was real? Do you really think that's how it was during the actual battle against the Persians? In this movie's defense, it's based on a graphic novel more than the real event.

I miss the days of Jet Li when he didn't (literally) fly around. I miss Jackie Chan. My hopes now lie with Tony Jaa, I suppose.

I agree that movies are always impressive when the action stars do all their own stunts, but to me, 300 was more of a fantasy story. The Spratins weren't supposed to be able to do the impossible. They were strong and knew how to fight. Aside from the face that they could jump 30ft, I found it at least semi-realistic. Much more realistic than say Batman dodging every machine gun bullet ever.

You know, I wonder if they mentioned in the actual movie that the men in Spartan society were ALL GAY?! I just thought I would ask.

Just a thought, perhaps it was just that buttsex wasn't so culturally abhorrent to them?
