Some said that due to all of the "unnecessary funding" in Iraq, the bridge went unfunded, and thus was all of Bush's fault.
I honestly think that the bridge could no longer hold its own weight. Is that such a crackpot theory?
Yeah, considering the bridge is roughly fifty years old. Its kinda ridiculous how much the media is blowing this out of proportion. Now its "This bridge is unsafe, but we wouldn't care right now unless another had collapsed first. So now we act like we knew all along." I dunno. But they did show some pretty interesting facts, like there are few, if any, inspectors for some of the states with damns and bridges.
Simply put: accidents happen. They're unfortunate, and sometimes people need to try and find a blame when there isn't one.

Man the media has to be really stupid because it was OBVIOUSLY Anonymous behind all of this. I mean Anonymous can blow up vans and threaten to blow up football stadiums so Anonymous should in theory be able collapse a bridge, come ON! Somebody call Fox News.

It actually baffled me as to WHY they canceled the Minnesota baseball games for the next few days there...
The bridge is 5 blocks from the stadium, so it obviously caused a traffic jam and maybe a few...deterred cars, so I can see the first night being cancelled.
Then, if I'm not mistaken, they moved the next game, and the game after that due to the bridge collapse.
You'd figure after 3 days, they could drive a team bus an extra 4 miles out of the way to the nearest bridge and go the long way.
