1.0 firmware doesn't exist in an installable form. furthermore, the only thing out is the codewarriors from the sdk for the psp. completely useless without the apis and the rest of the sdk software.
the ripped umds are not usable on the psp in any fashion, you can extract them to your computer...that's about it.
the hello world works by using an exploit in the 1.5 firmware update that allows any code to be run, unencrypted, unsigned so long as it looks like a true pbp file. this exploit *will not* work on a 1.5 psp which is any psp outside of japan and any newer psp bought in japan.
really the hacks are useless right now unless you're high up in a release group or are a software developer.

By the way, I thought I should mention this.
If you are a PSP lover and are happening to make a stop in Louisville, bring some extra cash with you to pick up some hawt discounted PSP Games.
There is a shop here called The Books and Music Exchange (or BME for short). This one in particular that I am talking about is on Bardstown Rd. near Eastern Parkway.
THEY SELL BRAND NEW PSP GAMES FOR 10 DOLLARS LESS. That means games like Ridge Racer are 30 dollars instead of 40. Occasionally they will have a used game mixed in with the bunch since they do sell traded in items, but the three games that I've bought from them (Lumines, Ridge, and Brotherhood) have all been new.
You can also bring in your used DVDs and/or games to trade for credit and they ALWAYS give much more than EB or Gamestop would.
Anyway, just thought you should know. Think of it as a buy 3 get 1 free deal (if you were buying all regularly priced 40 dollar games).
Oh and they have hundreds of other used games, Anime, Manga, RPG books, Books, CDs etc etc there too, but you have to go to the one located on Bardstown Rd for the PSP deal (the other stores in Louisville don't offer PSP games)

SNES one is only on the Japanese PSP though, right? Is ANYTHING available for the US 1.5?

nope...the 1.5 firmware will not run unencrypted programs. the 1.0 has a "fatal flaw" that allows this to be done. until the 1.5 firmware is cracked you're SOL
