Phone interview was "just okay" in my opinion.

They asked me a lot of stuff on SQL report writing which I know very, very little about. I tried to come up with reasonable answers but I felt that they could see through the BS. Damn. Entry-level position, eh? I disagree.

Of course watch me get the job.

Back to the ol' drawing boards for me I suppose. Chad I appreciate the help but I want something more than an hourly position, especially since IU is getting ransacked financially and they've put a hiring freeze on all things IT. Someone had to have been fired in order for that Tech position to have opened up.

By the way I am free this weekend and I am considering going to Indianapolis and chilling with you guys. Can you perhaps house me and find me a ride? Riot let's go together, being serious.

Oh by the way F human resources

I felt like I couldn't get into technical detail about anything since they literally would have no idea what I was talking about.

Case in point, they asked me what type of functions I have used in Excel. I name dropped the standard algebraic functions and NPV/IRR. They seemed unimpressed, and asked me if I had used an IF function.

IF is not a function. It does not do calculations. It is a statement.

God

Dammit

I got an e-mail Monday from Apparatus.net, who I interviewed with last May after graduating, asking if I would be interested in a phone screening to see if my interests/skills/whatever would match with any of their open positions.

I replied yesterday morning stating that I remember interviewing with their HR guru for a SharePoint architect position, was still in the job market, and would be interested in hearing what they had available.

They haven't replied yet, and I don't think they will.

$5 says they were just pissing through old resumes, sent me a generic e-mail, saw that I responded and were like, "Ooohhhhh yeahhhhh! Fuck THAT guy"
Hello Michael,

Last spring you stopped by our booth at the IU career fair, and spoke
with us about the opportunities available at Apparatus. We are
currently looking to add a few skilled professionals to our team and
would like to determine if you are still interested in an opportunity at
Apparatus. If you are interested, we want to invite you to a phone
interview to learn more about your skills, interests, and professional
experiences. Please respond to accept or decline this invitation. And,
if you choose to accept, we will follow with more details.

Warm Regards,

Apparatus Careers

Hello,

I do remember speaking and interviewing with Mr. Craig Hixon for a SharePoint architect
position at Apparatus. I am still in the job market and would like to hear more about the
opportunities available with your company. I accept your invitation for a phone interview.

Thank you very much,

Michael Merkler

I bit my lower lip while chewing and it swelled up about the size of a pea. The cuts healed but the swelling is still here. It was over a year ago that I bit it the first time. I've accidently bit several time since then. If I lance it with a needle, yellow liquid comes out and it shrinks. But it always comes back. How do I get rid of it?
