Damn, that happens to me too. I hate shoes that shrink. One day they're 10s, a week later they suddenly are 9.5s then 9s then 8s then 6es then 3s, and oh the humanity it kept on going until they finally just poofed out of existance!
It's a shoe company planned obsolescence conspiracy!

A pair of nice torn-up Nikes. They're strangely comfortable after having been worn almost every day for three years.

I wear athletic shorts and a tshirt and my slippers if I am playing at home. Some day though... I'm gonna play in the NUDE!

Playing nude or in just boxers is rather painful for most guys. Things are just way too loose for anything but very simple, non-jumpy songs (so no Waka-Laka). I'd recommend against it.
For girls on the other hand, I think more investigations need to be carried out. Please be sure to videotape your experiments.

i play in nike frees, they're totally lightweight. they breathe well and are very flexible.
a word of advice: don't buy them and then the first day you have them go on a 3-hour dancing spree. you'll get bad blisters. just wear them around and walk in them for the first 2-3 days, then dance. or if you have tough feet, you can totally ignore what i just said and dance on the first day anyway.
