Pretty funny stuff. I've yet to hear anyone say that they get why the play was called, and explain some hyper-technical reason of why it made sense. I've already read some conspiracy theory that the Pats paid someone to make the bad call because they are disrespectful cheaters.

The only argument I've heard that made sense was that they were going for the element of surprise. The problem I have with that is that if they were going to run a surprise pass play then they shouldn't have lined up in shotgun formation (which is how most passing plays are run). It's like, if you're going for a surprise pass at the goal-line then have the QB line up under the center and run a play action pass by faking it to the RB, allow your receivers to get open, and chuck it. Everyone is expecting the run here as they should be. If you're going to do a surprise pass then be a little more fucking subtle.

Darrell Bevell is so fucked. I feel like this is one of those situations where you deport yourself and live quietly somewhere in some foreign country because your professional and social life is doomed. A pass was not a bad option to call in that situation, but to call that particular play does seem...odd. The QB should NOT have thrown that ball, though. His job was very clear: throw a sure TD, or get away and put it in the nosebleed section.

God damn it this will go down as the worst God damn draft for the Colts but of course no one will get fired because everyone is just riding Andrew Luck's coat tails. I can't believe they burned their first round pick (#29 overall) on a God damn wide receiver when Malcolm Brown (DT) and Landon Collins (S) were still on the board. Of fucking course the Patriots immediately picked up Brown at #32 and the Giants picked up Landon Collins at #33.

The best hope for them this coming season is that they end up not playing the Pats in the playoffs because otherwise they are fucked.

Look on the bright side, it won't be as bad as Mayweather VS Pacquiao was. Seriously, I was expecting to see a moonwalk at one point during the fight.
