Get a TE from the cheapest place you can find it honestly. Amazon, Buy.com, Newegg have them up for sale every once in a while. No point in getting a crappy stick, might as well get the best that's out there. Plus the 360 one just plug n plays right into all PCs for emulators/3rd Strike.

$120-140 ish. I've seen them go on sale every few months for like 90 bucks, but it's impossible to tell when that will happen. I paid 150 for mine more than a year ago and it's still working perfectly with all buttons barely feeling used, so I'd feel pretty comfortable paying "full" price. They made a second revision of the TE stick, but I dunno what people's reactions really were. It's thinner and has pointier edges I know that, and aside from a different design I don't think anything else changed.

And by hint I mean I literally sent her an e-mail with the Amazon link to a TE2 fight stick. I am more pumped for using it with 3rd strike though to be honest. I might finally be able to pull of a 1-2-3 Genei Jin properly without having to put in a LP shoulder rush! Or fuck, I might be able to take my Urien to the next level and land the unblockable set-up after an air fireball or c.HP - all of which requires crazy tight inputs that I just cannot do on a pad.

Yes, square gates are the standard there and it really is unsettling, especially for fighting games. I have a square gate on my stick right now and I played like garbage yesterday - I had to be extremely deliberate in executing all my moves.
