Re: Fantasy Football interest thread
Draft date is September 5th just FYI guys
That is the Sunday before football officially starts on 9/9/10. You guys have the benefit of knowing the most up-to-date injuries / trade drama before football starts so you don't get screwed!
Remember two years ago when Tom Brady's knee exploded in the first game of the season for the Patriots? It was awesome, but my fantasy league (my first one ever) auto picked Tom Brady to be my main QB. That's when I discovered the magic of Aaron Rodgers.
FUN FACT: Did you know that Bernard Pollard, the man responsible for destroying Tom Brady's (and fellow Patriot Wes Welker's) knee is a native of my hometown Ft. Wayne, Indiana? He went to Southside and probably enjoys being a thug in the off-season.

A normality test:

If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

Re: Fantasy Football interest thread
Well, anyone else interested?
Riot?
Chaz?
Trust me guys if you have any inkling of interest in football then you'll enjoy doing this. Even if you have literally no football knowledge you can still play and have a good time. I literally started two years ago knowing nothing about football and I flipping won last year. If that's not rags to riches then I don't know what is.

I created a team last week. Is it showing up?Merk wrote:My good buddy who I mentioned earlier in this thread just created a team in our league.
Re: Fantasy Football interest thread
I actually won the regular season of my league the first and only year I played but then lost in the first round of the playoffs...
With 6 teams there will be plenty of opportunity for parity with the number of good players that will be undrafted. Should be a lot of fun

Yep! I'm sure Arrow Smashers will be a team to be reckoned with, Mr. Ho!Ho wrote:I created a team last week. Is it showing up?Merk wrote:My good buddy who I mentioned earlier in this thread just created a team in our league.
Yeah it should actually be pretty fun with just a few teams. There will be plenty of opportunities to drop / pickup players who you think will have a good week without too much risk of someone picking up the dude you dropped and hoarding him. When I was in my 6-team league last year I swapped out defenses pretty much every week, it was pretty cool taking a gamble every week and seeing how it would pay off.Frisbez wrote:I actually won the regular season of my league the first and only year I played but then lost in the first round of the playoffs...

Whoever drafts Avon will be the automatic winner. ISSMA has it rigged so that they win every year.Ho wrote:I'm in.
But I expect a fantasy marching band league, too.
OH MARCHING BAND POLITICS

Re: Fantasy Football interest thread
Forget ISSMA. Forget BOA.
I'm going to DCI World Class finals in 2 1/2 weeks!

Re: Fantasy Football interest thread
Looks like we got a fiiiiiiiifth teeeeeeeeeam
Welcome Dreadnought!
While I am very happy to have another team in our league this does put us in a position where we need a sixth team in order to make an even number. Shit is going to suck if a team gets an automatic bye every week.
Who else can we rope in? Tim?
Joe is out, Chad is out, Brandon is (sadly) out. The only people who I'm unsure of are Riot (doubtful) and Tim (possibly!). If another ITG kid wanted to get involved that would be neat too! Work your magic Frisbez

If all else fails I'll see if my brother wants to play. He'll be off at college too though this year so his interest might be only slight.
