Ok, I know you're all sick of the bots. Believe me when I tell you that MonMotha and I are, too!

A few weeks ago, MonMotha took our first step toward what we hope will be a solution--or at least an improvement--to the problem. I'm working on the second part of this effort right now. (I'm taking a quick break to make this post mostly out of the desire to do something else for a few minutes. Let's just say that it's not exactly fun. In fact, it's not even remotely fun.)

There will be a third step to this, and then hopefully we'll start to see a difference. I'll let you all know when that drops. We have a fourth step standing by in the event that we don't get satisfactory results from what we're doing now.

I just deleted inactive accounts from the past ~3 months. That took us from 1043 in the memberlist down to 926. 117 down...

What that tells me though is that a lot more spambots are able to actually activate their accounts and post than ever before. Annoying.
