You cannot say that you don't waste natural resources. Do you always recycle? do you make efforts to buy recycled products instead of new? If you are going to complain about America and do nothing about it, then I have no pity for you. If you do do the above, that is a good step. Another thing, electricity. Energy isn't free but how many times have you left a light on or used a computer for extended amounts of time? or have you driven/got a ride somewhere you could easily bike or walk or elected it over public transportation.hascoolnickname wrote:America makes up a small 5% of the worlds population, yet America uses up 40% of the worlds natural resources. America fails hard.
America has become accustomed to laziness, people drive just down the block or across the street to see a friend. Complaining about it and being part of the problem will not accomplish anything (I'm not accusing your or anything, but those are all pretty common things that people do that can be considered wasteful)
America is dependant on fossil fuels, and until the government gets a clue and starts funding scientific research, we will be stuck there. Until people stop whining about healthcare which only causes chemical companies to lose money, we will never make progress.
And facts about drug manufacturing before someone else trys to talk about it:
1 out of 100 drugs actually make it to the market and pass FDA regulations.
EACH one costs about 40 million in development.
So mathmatically you are able to develop a new medicine for about 4 billion dollars. That DOES NOT include manufacturing costs and material cost. So just to edumacate some people here, I never want to ever hear anyone complain about prices of medicine.
EDIT: 40 million per attempt not 400
