You'll have to talk to Original Sin (because he's been a fan of theirs for a long time, where I've only heard about five of their songs.. x.x), but I've been to a lot of concerts, and it was a really good show. There's this cool part where they lower a translucent screen (kind of like a veil, I guess) and play videos on it for about three songs while they play behind it. It's really cool. n_n

actually I wish i was back in the last building, I didn't have to work as hard darn transfers.

The concert was really impressive. They played a big variety of songs, too, some from every album, so there's something in there for anyone who's liked their music in the past.

Hmmm the song list was similar in Lexington, but not quite the same; he didn't play Hurt, Something I Can Never Have, Reptile, or Starfuckers, but he DID play Love is not enough, Every day is exactly the same, Even deeper, and Sin.

Overall it was a great high-energy set, and Trent still sounds incredibly good vocally for someone who's even older than me and spends most nights screaming his guts out The highlights included March of the Pigs (guitar player stage diving into crowd, WITH guitar!), the video segments in the middle (Right Where We Belong was absolutely incredible!), and the unexpected speech. I had always heard that Trent never said anything in shows, but just after playing Only he went into a very sincere speech about how music was the only thing that kept him going when he had been suicidal. Then he awkwardly added "this is why I don't say much in between songs!".

Only low point of the night was the completely forgettable opening band Moving Units, who sounded like a really bland copy of the Killers, who themselves sound like a really bland copy of a zillion 80's new wave bands....

Yea.. Trent didn't really say much here.. except he did call out all the people smoking pot.. from which I had a contact buzz all day yesterday 'cause it stuck to my hair.. go that..

How rock concerts have changed since 1986
- no lighters, just cell phones
- digital cameras and camcorders
- less pot
- security check when you go in
- shows tend to start on time rather than 2-3 hours late

However, there are still drunken idiots who paid $40 for something they won't remember the next day. I'll never get over that

Back when it was still called deercreek, me and some friends would steal the shoes of passed out drunken people and throw them in the trash and piss in convertibles. Lot Security was pretty much a joke.

Also I'd like to warn people to know what they're taking. Last night I had to deal with someone in a GRAND MAL SEIZURE from 1 bong rip. He had just started a new antidepressant and it interacted in a very negative fashion. Scared the shit out of me. KNOW WHAT YOU TAKE AND WHAT YOU ARE ON. Heh, you got a speach? Trent didn't say a whole lot here, but he did talk a little. He apologized for not coming to Fort Wayne very often, and said he's glad some people out there still like music.

I just remember in the old days people would spoke pot at ANY concert, indoor or out, no matter what. Like when I saw Billy Joel (with my parents no less!), and as soon as the lights went out you could smell it all around. At BILLY JOEL for crying out loud! Last night at NIN I could smell a tiny bit of pot but mostly it was clove cigarettes, cheap cologne, beer and sweat that I could smell. Not a great combination

yeah, i'd agree there's a decline but mostly because "excise are dicks" (doesn't everyone say that?)

it was kinda funny being 5 years old at bonny rait(sp) and smelling doobies and asking mom why the smoke didn't smell like dad's cigs.
