I wouldn't mind seeing some assists used in high level play beyond extending OTG combos.

What pisses me off the most is that all the naysayers are going to latch on to Doom at launch and the people like me who have stuck with him since the beginning are going to be lumped with all the flavor of the month players.

There are certainly going to be a ton of Doom hype/tier-riders, including me for a little while just to see if the buzz is justified. He is still a kind of awkward character to use so I anticipate a lot of people spamming S foot dives for a month, getting frustrated, and returning to Wesker or somebody. I do like to use him I just think he is goofy to move and get in with, and there are just other characters that can fill his role in vanilla better. In Ultimate he seems like he will rise to the top few. Still tossing up a bunch of characters, including Task, Hawkeye, Doom, Vergil, Wesker, Nova, and Rocket Raccoon mainly.

After watching Vergil's videos, I'm probably going to start with Vergil/Hawk/Task and see how that goes, or Task/Hawk/Vergil since he is a huge meter hog. I just think he might need an assist to set up his teleport mixups.

I have pre-ordered this game through Amazon so now I can have 90s Sentinel and Doom with spikes.

At Gamestop they told me I get a secret character with my preorder. Their employees are dumb as shit.

8 foot dives in one combo! Task's vertical shot plays nicely with his Sphere Flame. Just got used to canceling his foot dives into dashes for mid screen combos and getting in.

This game literally comes out in a few days and I have not mentally prepared myself for it.

Bring it on! I'm stoked for Hawkeye. His Gimlet hyper is insta punish anywhere on the screen, so if I hear an assist call, I can do that (air or ground), then DHC into someone else to punish. I was also scheming that with full screen hypers like Storm, his THC could be devastating with that insta-Gimlet to punish any whiffs, bad assists, or anything.

Still thinking some mix of Hawkeye/Task/Doom, Vergil/Hawkeye/Task, or Task/Hawkeye/(Doom/Vergil). I DUNNOOOOOOO but I wanna play.

Honestly Riot Hawkeye looks a little dumb and you'll probably be better off with something like Wesker/Vergil/Doom.

I don't have a real grasp on how all the people play but I want to pick a rush-down team with really easy to do mixups that lead into a ToD. Zoning is going to be better but I honestly can't think of a single fighting game where zoning is the best way to do things.

Wesker/Vergil/Doom or Wesker/Vergil/Strider will be super super good and probably dominate the scene for a little while.

I honestly think Felicia is going to rise to one of the top few characters this time. And I think Hawkeye is severely underrated. I pretty much knew day one of his reveal that I was going to use him, and now Combofiend is picking him up, and Viscant says he thinks he will be one of the best characters since he basically has a level one gravity squeeze that can be DHC'd. Apparently he is unorthodox to play, but I really think he's going to be very annoying and very good once I get used to him and keeping people out.
