I get tired of hearing it every 45 minutes on the radio at work. I'm not exagerating, either. Every 45 minutes, that damned song comes on.Dyme wrote:i get tired of hearing soulja boy in the clubs every fucking weekend
But I heard he's got a new dance for y'all.Original Sin wrote:I get tired of hearing it every 45 minutes on the radio at work. I'm not exagerating, either. Every 45 minutes, that damned song comes on.Dyme wrote:i get tired of hearing soulja boy in the clubs every fucking weekend
To this day, every time I hear 'Any Man Of Mine' by Shania Twain (which fortunately isn't often), I'm immediately reminded of the summer that I worked an assembly line job and country music was blaring through the sound system every day (loudly, since the machines were loud enough already). That song haunted my dreams... and not in a good way.Original Sin wrote:I get tired of hearing it every 45 minutes on the radio at work. I'm not exagerating, either. Yeah I worked at GM on the assembly line over the summer, I swear if I didn't already hate "classic rock" before that, I pretty much loathe it afterwards.malictus wrote:To this day, every time I hear 'Any Man Of Mine' by Shania Twain (which fortunately isn't often), I'm immediately reminded of the summer that I worked an assembly line job and country music was blaring through the sound system every day (loudly, since the machines were loud enough already). Hell, if you got to listen to classic rock in a factory, concider yourself fortunate. That's usually the best it gets. Typically, depending on what racial group you're working in close proximity to, it's either hip hop (or the new 'classic dance' station we have in the fort), or country. There are some younger guys where I work, so occasionally I'll hear the modern rock station....but rarely.Riot wrote:

I still haven't heard that song from start to finish. It'll happen soon though.Dyme wrote:i get tired of hearing soulja boy in the clubs every fucking weekend
LOLOriginal Sin wrote: 'Soulja Boy' comes on the radio for the 50th time near my work station, I can drown it out with, say...Slayer.
Slayer sucks. There, disgraced without illiterate ghetto jargon.Original Sin wrote:Blasphemy! Do no disgrace Slayer with illiterate ghetto jargon! ...even if it is witty.
You learn to play guitar like that, and then tell me they suck. You can say you don't like them, but saying a band sucks just because your opinion differs is a tad full of yourself, don't you think? I don't like your music, but I'm not saying it sucks. However, I would rather shoot myself in the head with a nail gun than listen to it.SoDeepPolaris wrote:Slayer sucks. THANK YOU. Finally, people with a brain. And if you think it's harsh listening to this shit, imagine not listening to it and being dissed because you're black, as I have been since the beginning of time.ShammerS wrote:As a community based on music-games, I can only assume that we've all got our own taste in what's good and what isn't. So, here's the deal.
I hate rap music with nearly every fiber of my being. This most certainly includes (but is not limited to) nearly every song heard on Indianapolis' 96.3FM and 93.1FM. Popular rap music seems to be a sad mix of a shitty, one-lined catch phrase sung by a no-talent racist/sexist.
Granted, racism and sexism can be funny, but they take that shit seriously and talk about it like it's a key and important part of 'being a g' or whatever the fuck they call that whole idea of being rich for sounding like a dog in heat while they sing.
In my opinion, the entire industry is led by it's producers who, at this point, have simply run out of creativity. The same generic beat (I can point it out to you musically, if you'd like) can be heard in nearly every song with one of three variations. The same cheesy production sounds can be heard in the background, usually a bunch of deep-voiced dudes going "hey" on the off beats.
With such hits like "Walk It Out" and "This Is Why I'm Hot" being played numerous times on a daily basis, I can't help but wonder when the songs will stop being requested and people start to hear something that remotely resembles talent. It simply seems to me that people only listen to it as a way to completely escape having a brain capable of coherent or productive thought.
Fuck popular rap and hip-hop; that's my opinion.
