So... if all goes as planned, I may be playing on a brand new SN machine within a few days...

Playing devil's advocate for a sec...you kinda did ask for it though, the harsh replies from your initial post after what you've said before. But in your defense, I think that's how other people will be responding to the 42375923 other people who bashed SN before they played it, then creating a better opinion after they did. It's best that it was just left not responding to them, it's always you VS everyone else...and it's best to forget about it. It's been like that since the beginning.
Hell, I know I'll be rubbing in people faces when they say OMG DDR SN IS FUN! When before they were bashing every aspect of it even though they never played it (or played the beta, not thinking that it's called a "beta" for a reason).

the thing is, i apologized and came back with what i said, explaining the points of why the game was good in detail for those doubting it.
Most of the people saying the game was good were just saying that; "it's good". or if it was konami reps, "just wait, you'll see."
i did that post explaining in depth WHY it was good and WHY it was bad and what it needed to improve. all I got was immature sarcasm from all of the people, as usual, picking apart points that they had no grounds to assume on.

I played it. The timing feels alot tighter and I despise the 5th mix scoring.
But the tighter timing may have been complemented by the fact that I was out of practice by atleast a month.
And Seduction IS offbeat, nuff said.
Ah, and make sure you HOLD the start button completely until your options menu comes up. In extreme you had about a second to press and hold it again after you picked a song, SN will immediately goto song loading if you don't hold it from hitting start.

Ok, so I got to play SN at the Milpitas Golfland on Thursday. However, I only got to play one round, as they decided to turn off the machine sometime around 9:30 for unkown reasons. They also decided to turn off one of their Drummania machines a little while before that too...
Anyway, here's my official review:
Meh... It's DDR.
Yeah, it's pretty, but other than that, it's just DDR. If you're looking for something new and revolutionary, you'll be disapointed. However, if you're looking for the same old game with a few more frills and buttons, you'll be quite pleased.
In other words, it's pretty much exactly what I expected. DDR with fancy graphics.

I played today as there's one near my new apartment in Carol Stream. Pics and stuff tomorrow when I unpack my camera accessories.

Good to know that Konami is in fact competing with Andamiro and Pump It Up, at least in the Engrish department. Unfortunately for them, they have some stiff competition there as Andamiro is well known and highly-regarded for their Engrish.

Toooool.
Unfortunately, the cabinet is Engrish-free, so they're not quite playing in Andamiro's league... yet.
