Nothing has really changed, I'm pretty sure you're as up to date as you need to be.

I'm always pumped up for a DAT though. I loves me some fund-raising.

We got approval from Daniel, No pump it up but that is fine. 2 day event, pretty much everything but DDR the first day and DDR the 2nd day. Still a lot of work to be done, a lot of people to contact and sponsorship to gather.

Name:
DDR-A-THON 6

Date:
probably Fall of 07

Entry Price:
still unknown

Possible Games and Devisions:
DDR Supernova: Tech & Freestyle
Beatmania (Probably Happy Sky)
Pop'n Music (Probably 12, 13, or Fever if it is good)
Guitar Hero 2
Street Fighter 3rd Strike
Super Smash Bros. Melee: Single & Teams
Bust A Move (AKA Puzzle Bobble)

IIDX Distorted will be out by then so people will probably want to play that. I'm curious, why no Pump?

I'm curious, why in the fall, when everybody has school?

I wasn't sure when that would be out, so maybe Distorted then. The reason there will no be Pump, is for many reasons, for one thing DDR will only be out there one day, it would be a pain to drag out both machines for just one day, and another thing, after the next L-ville tourney we should be able to get full sponsorship, when that happens we will have another individual pump it up tournament.

The main reason I planned it for the fall, is IU students, they love Guitar Hero like no other, if we have a Guitar Hero Tourney then, our turn out will be MUCH MUCH bigger than if we were to have it during the summer time, which will mean more money for Riley.

I would highly recommend putting at least the DDR machine out in the center area for both days, if you can swing it. Even though the tournaments for DDR may only happen on one day, people will want to be able to play DDR on both days. It is a DDR-A-Thon, after all...

It's not just limited to Guitar Hero. Experience has shown that Fall/Spring tournaments in Bloomington tend to get much better attendance than Summer tournaments, for a variety of reasons. So yes, I think Fall is the way to go.

...Other people like GH, too, and I'm sure Riley will get more money if the DDR event is bigger rather than if the GH event is bigger.

Well, I will talk to Daniel about it, more than likely that will be able to be done, see originally it was a giant event and we wanted to do all other games than ddr on one day and the ddr the second day, but since it it DAT now, we will have to get it out there both days.

I'm working out what should be an uber-cool event for this, but it would absolutely require Pump to be available. Obviously, it would be nice if it was out in the courtyard, but free play (even just for this event) in the arcade would suffice.

Sorry, no Pump, if you want to piece together something small like a small Pump tourney, I am sure Daniel won't care if you go to the arcade and do it, but still the agreement this time is No pump, pretty much he agreed to 2 pump tourneys (the one we had and another with full AM sponsorship) and DDR for DAT, that is pretty much it, almost everything else used at DAT other than the DDR machine will be my private stuff. We will soon plan a day where the four of us (Ho, Jim, Daniel, and myself) will get together to fully plan this out, but it may be a couple weeks.

Just keep this in mind guys, the games are not what is important of DAT, we are using the games to draw a crowd the important thing is the charity we are trying to raise for, last year's figure was kind of sad, and we can do A LOT LOT LOT better this year.

Then it's not worth the drive from Fort Wayne. Sorry.

Not even to help out Riley?

There are other ways to help out Riley a lot more without costing me 10 more hours of my life on the road. I'll see what I'm doing when you schedule it, but I somehow doubt I'd be that interested in making the trip.
