Ugh.. HotD4 is good, but another fast and furious? That game is horrible. It's based off of the old SF Rush engine, and that is not a good thing now. Wangan Midnight, Battle Gear 4, or Initial D. D will pay for itself easily because people want to build up their cards, same with the others generally. The newer style "card" games attract more money because people want to come in and start back where they left off or take on someone with what they have. All of the games also have a following, unlike F&F, Deer Hunting Games, or anything like that. Your best games are the old Galaga, PIU, air hockey, Time Crisis, Tekken, and the little card game thing.
House of the Dead 4 is awesome and it is REALLY hard. I had to have easily put 10$ into it on Saturday.
And I am not an official spokesman for the arcade, but considering the fact that I am dating Christina (great x scape) and I talk to her dad alot. Her dad said they won't be able to get it til this Fall, so it is a little while before they get it, especially sense B-town is long over due for a new DDR, and this one will be takin care of.Harleigh RVNG wrote:cool, but.... im wondering when supernova will get there! lol, i can't wit to try it out at least...
Perhaps to you, but it's still new and fresh to many...and many more all the time.sam wrote:ddr is old and overplayed...let's get some new bemani ffs
This is one thing that people should keep in mind when judging SuperNOVA. A lot of veteran players have many complaints about it. But the reality is that in general, people stop playing a game at some point regardless.
SuperNOVA will be a first or early DDR experience for many people. While it's certainly good to keep an established fanbase, new(er) players are probably the target market...these are the people they're trying to hook in to help spread the phenomenon.

But I do agree that I'd like to see some more of the Bemani series stateside. I'm hoping that DDRSN being a domestic release is a sign of things to come and that other titles will make the jump across the ocean.

yeah i knew the one you're talking about...humerously, aladin's castle had arkanoid as well. One can only hope that it's in the same location as the original...it would have to be next to the token machine on the first floor.
i'm such a dork for remembering that...but god did arkanoid eat up my money back in the day

Nope, it is inbetween Ranger Mission and the Neo Geo machine on the second floor.

So I checked out some of the new stuff yesterday...
The X-Men game has the goofiest controls I've ever seen. Who lines up their six buttons in a vertical stack? That and 50 cents for such an outdated game is pretty unfair. I can't imagine the game getting much playtime.
Arkanoid is fun. I'll probably play that when I'm not playing PIU.
The Neo-Geo cab is alright. I'm not sure why he chose World Heroes and that other dumb fighter that isn't Samurai Showdown. Bust-a-move is classic though.
House of the Dead 4 is omfgawesome. I haven't had so much fun since I played Crypt Killer. http://www.woller.com/homeentertainment ... ller_v.jpg
The big question, is it $1 a game fun? Probably not.
Lethal Enforcers II speaks for itself.
My main gripe with the venue is the price of the games. Pac-man doesn't need to be 50 cents. Time Crisis 3 doesn't need to be $1. PIU doesn't need to be $1 (anymore). I'm not sure about the racing games, but I'm sure it costs and arm and a leg to play those too.
