OK, the odds of me actually being able to go on that trip are extra slim (none), but I still want a decent bike.

This may not be the one I get though. It was just one of the few at the store that happened to be in my price range. I may suddenly hit the lottery though.
And, I would get some better pedals too. Straps are stupid, plain and simple.

Looks pretty nice fo the price, And specialized is a good company. I dont roadbike but there freeride bikes are some of the best. And yea go with some platform pedals.
