Re: Video Thread - New Rule: No more vlogs.
I knew that when I clicked on this thread and saw that Riot was the last person to post that he had made a paragraph post talking about the fucking stupid ass camera he bought and can't shut the fuck up about.
Riot, no one cares, seriously. We get it - you spent money on a camera and now all you want to do is take Instagram shots of the most mundane shit in the world and call it art. Please just go back to playing Guild Wars 2 or some obscure fighting game so we can go back to normalcy and restore the balance to IndyDDR. Potter is the only one who can talk about obscure hipster photography shit and he earned that right by being 12 years old and smoking a hell of a lot of herb; both of which you have yet to do.

omg that was looool. I've reread it a few times now and it still cracks me up.
Nothing wrong with being excited over a camera. Just don't assume that shooting assorted garbage in the road with a black and white filter at a 41 degree angle means you've created something incredible. Why not start a film/camera/photography thread? I'm guessing there's probably one from a few years ago already as long as you don't mind cleaning off some old spunk from the last circle jerk.

Merk stfu. I forgot your only hobby is making fun of everyone else's hobbies, but I figured I could post stuff here and not always be made fun. If I was trying to present this grand artistic vision to the world and it was just me frolicking around taking videos of cats, then sure, mock away. I'm clearly asking for technical tips and constructive criticism hence all the technical mumbo jumbo after the link. I'm testing my camera and trying to learn how to compose shots and get better clarity so I have to upload and share for tips. I put that together in like 1 hour to show my grandpa and to test the clarity of the shots when uploaded to Youtube. Sorry it is not my usual fat person doing something stupid and embarrassing. I can make a video of you if you want that.
Anyways, Potter, I asked on Facebook, but I'm still not sure if the Nebula hack is working totally correctly. The bitrates on all the videos have not exceeded 38k when I check in properties, but I was wondering if since I haven't messed with the fstop at all would that affect anything if more stuff in the background is in focus?

I want that. I'd also settle for 70's dancing, videogame glitches, animals making weird noises, quirky Japanese things, and anything that might be described as Ghetto.Riot wrote:I can make a video of you if you want that.
Merk's post was still pretty darn funny. I read it again and still laffs.

It'd be funnier if he was just joking around but he's being serious and it's annoying.Fluffyumpkins wrote:I want that. Pooter, check out this 24p test real quick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4pJMeUM ... e=youtu.be
I used the 24p mode and it looked very good in my opinion. Bitrate read like 77k, so hack seems to be right on. I was trying to manually adjust fstop in M mode and it was hard to get good consistent brightness since it was so sunny today with clouds rolling around. Anyways the point of posting this is to test 24p's look when uploaded (even if Youtube is a bad place to put stuff, it's still a good testbed to compare to other footage that people have done) and to see how weird the Vegas stabilization effect is. I applied it to the two berry clips and it looked very weird as it morphed around the screen a bit in my preview window, but it doesn't look as pronounced in the rendered clip, although it does look very weird in the 3rd clip as it tilts up and zooms up the tree. Do you know of other plugins or ways to add camera stabilization (I guess my lens doesn't do it inherently or at least the option on the camera is dimmed). I'm still having issues with getting focus on the upward tree shots and especially as the camera moves... any tips? Is it just the fact that there is so much moving that it artifacts a bit, or is it autofocus just not being good enough? Do you manually focus stuff like this?
Merk please do not watch this test video.

Holy crap. He was 2 seconds from blowing his arm off. The middle east is tooooooo scary.
I like it when videos go viral. A virus has the same properties as a a YouTube video and I am a shitdumb marketer.
