When did I gush about Final Fantasy cutscenes? I'm pretty sure I've done more complaining and praising for every Final Fantasy past 8 and every fighting game past Third Strike.

I am going to bite on this troll bait because there is nothing else to talk about on here during the weekends.
Merk really likes Drummania and IIDX because they have Anime movies and characters.
Merk is going to one of the nation's biggest Anime cons in just a few weeks.
Merk really likes fighting game animations and regularly mimics them in real life. (See below)
Merk has seen and reported enjoying Cowboy Bebop.
Merk is more vocal about hating anime than anyone else I know.
1) Not true. Believe it or not I actually used to play the drums. I was never particularly great at them but a videogame where you play on an actual electronic drumset is perfect for someone like me who enjoys drumming, videogames and who wants to get better at drumming.

1a) I like BEET because it's a challenge and arguably the most difficult music game out there. I haven't played with movies on since Red which was the first mix where you had the option to put your little score graph next to the note lanes.

2) I would not be going if the only J-Core concert that ever happens in the US was not happening there. If there was a way to go to the concert and not have to go to ACEN I would do it in a heartbeat. Much like last year, I am going to do my best to not see a single frame of anime.

3) Third Strike was a pretty game and Makoto's SA1 had a very over the top animation. Foot diving is fun as fuck so I don't see a problem there.

4) It is the sole exception. I don't hold the show to some high-esteem and talk about how it's better than Shakespeare like anime fans do but I would say the show is watchable. It definitely has the eye-rollingly bad tropes that all anime has but I liked all the little vignettes that were in the show. Spike and Jet had good characterization at least and their motivations were consistent and made sense with their backstories and personalities, everyone else was pretty annoying though. I'd say it is B-Tier.

5) I love to hate things and talk about how much I love hating them. Anime fans are so horrible and so ubiquitous on the internet that it makes them the lowest hanging fruit out there. I mean, I love escapism as much as the next guy but anime and anime fans take it to an extreme and are so self-congratulatory that it makes them laughable. I feel the exact same way about furries but that line of discussion has been beaten like a dead fur-horse. No one on here is going to support furries (OR WOULD THEY?!?!?!?) and everyone out there can agree that they are all around terrible.
The hater has clear evidence that he is a member of the hated group but is in denial. He refuses to identify with said group and often comes up with convoluted explanations as to why he isn't actually a member.
I don't agree with this. People hate on anime because of all the shit that they see in person and read about on http://www.theanimereality.com. If this person is seriously using this argument then very fucking Republican is a Democrat, every Palestinian is secretly Jewish, and every Alabama fan wants to chill with his Auburn compatriots. There are many, many examples of people who hate on something because of what it is, not because they are in some sort of denial.

Sometimes I wonder if people are serious when they use Shakespeare in a positive sense.
If he wrote that crap in modern times he'd be blasted harder than James Cameron for unoriginality (like maybe 2 of his scripts were original stories).
And they're long and boring.
It seems like everyone who likes them only likes them because it puts them in some sort of pretentious, I-am-superior position. Kinda' like Anime. Do you like Shakespeare, Merk? Because you totally like anime.

Dude I dunno, Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus is pretty badass. He bakes these kids into a pie and tricks their mother into eating them.

I don't really have an opinion one way or the other on Shakespeare. Riot would be better suited to give an educated take on him. All I know is that people love to compare whatever pop-fantasy literature they are reading to his work and use that to justify their cosplaying.

The whole pan-sexual thing is kind of getting on my nerves. "I don't really see gender I just see people!", shut up you're bisexual. Stop trying to make it this deep profound thing.

Well okay then!

"I'm pansexual, but I have a strong female preference. As far as boys go, I mainly only like traps and very feminine/androgynous guys, but I like all kinds of girls, from cutesy chicks to tomboys and reverse traps."

Shakespeare and The Beatles are two perfect examples of things people like only because they're supposed to like them.

I love searching for little internet buzzwords on OKC that people use to sound like a special snowflake and finding all the absolute antisocial trainwrecks.

We've done otherkin and pansexual.

Today's word? Neurotypical. Today's winner? http://www.okcupid.com/profile/Artistic ... cf=regular

I'm all gungho for an egalitarian society but holy shit as a cis-gendered middle class white male I pretty much have to commit suicide or get a sex change, cut off my limbs, give away all my wealth, be fat (shouldn't be hard), and change my race in order to satisfy the demands of the feminist movement. Literally any sort of social interaction on my part ("Hello!" for example) with these types of people results in oppressing them and subscribing to hetero-normative social constructs used to stifle individuality and promote the Caucasoid patriarchy. Can't we all just get along?

EDIT: whoaaaaaa, new winner! http://www.okcupid.com/profile/philolexica?cf=regular

This person can't be real:

"I am an adulator of lexicons and codices; a philogynist with eruditional tendencies; a somnolent oneiromancer of Freudian variety. And I've come to make your amicable acquaintance, and perhaps, just maybe, engage in some amorous relations."

Well if this isn't the most unfortunate misspelling of "country" I've ever seen...

Today's word: MENSA

http://www.okcupid.com/profile/KazeRyuujin?cf=regular

This... Wooo boy, this is difficult, I'm not sure where to start. I am 99% sure this person is at ColossalCon this weekend. Red flags:

[x] CAT EARS LOL
[x] Talks about being in Mensa but can't be bothered to be a grammar/spelling nazi
[x] Doesn't "believe" in monogamy
[x] words words words words words words words
[x] Can get in Mensa but goes to internet college

But hey, maybe she's not too bad, she's probably on par with your typical back in the day IndyDDR forum goer. For the bro version of this person, check this: http://www.okcupid.com/profile/thanatos ... r_indirect

But there's gotta be worse people out there, let's find out!

Looking for someone a bit more smug? Look no further: http://www.okcupid.com/profile/Rigil_Paix?cf=regular

Red flags:
Image

[x] "Truth be told, I have somewhat of a white knight complex-- I'll help those in trouble, even if it's at my own expense."
[x] Self-proclaimed foodie!

Other than that there are a fuck load a really, really boring people who passingly mention that they're in Mensa. No real train wrecks to speak of, maybe the Mensa people really are smart by staying the fuck off the internet!

OKCupid is the best. "Someone to play frisbee with, preferably in the dark." Really? That's the worst.

We needs more words to look up. I'd like to suggest the following:

* Reiki <--------
* Clairvoyant
* NRA

Does anyone know how easy it actually is to get into mensa? Join triple 9 or intertel and get back to me. According to a WISC test in 5th grade I could be in the goddamn Prometheus Society, however the paperwork and fees are not worth it just so I can say I'm smart on the internet. High IQ societies, especially things such as Mensa where it's as vast as the top 2%, are really, really pointless
