Lots of rumors swirling about a Super MvC3, or at least some kind of giant patch. New characters being hinted at by Lupinko (the guy who basically leaked everything about SSF4 and MvC3):

Apocalypse (basically a shoe-in, Lupinko posted four of his quotes to his twitter)
Cable (another quote that's reminiscent of what Cable says in game)
Urien (some people suspect that some of the quotes and hints point towards him)
Strider
Phoenix Wright (he would be an awesome with a nice counter "OBJECTION!" hyper)
Something "blue and green" from Megaman

Maybe we'll hear something at ComicCon and EVO since the producer is going to be there and Capcom keeps saying "oh you won't have to wait long for an announcement..."

I have no idea how Urien would work in this game. If he's a charge character then he's auto shit-tier.

Well he said Strider ("All I know is dat shit will be goin' clockw0rk, hype bitches cuz he be comin' for ya neo") and Phoenix are in, and he's just giving little riddles about the rest. Might be Bishop instead of Cable...

"And in my mind
I'm a, blind man doin' time Look to my future
cause my past is all behind me
Is it a crime to fight for what is mine"

Don't know much about the character but I guess he time travels, has a scar over one eye, and is important in the future of the X-men series.

He was also talking about vampires, and with a new Blade anime and launch in Japan, Blade seems likely.

And Apocalypse seems pretty sure as well based on his post "I cannot be harmed. Watch me and tremble, for I bring the purity of oblivion to your world"

CONGRATS ON BEING FIRST LOSER RIOT I'M GUESSING YOU WON A LITTLE BIT MORE THAN $20 LOLOLOLOL $10 VENDOR FEE IS THE BIGGEST SCAM IN THE WORLD.

Imagine if each event in the World Series of Poker charged a tournament fee that equaled the event's entry fee. Literally no one would play in these events because that's an incredibly absurd amount of rake. I'm guessing the third place guy didn't even break-even.

YEW GIMMIE $19.99 ANDA FEW WEEKS AND IMMA MAKE YEW A WOILD CLASS FEENIX PLAYAH.

I would be so mad if I was the third place guy. He literally won a dollar, what a crock of shit, he had to pay $15 in parking too I bet. This is why no one will ever make a living playing video games unless you play for ridiculously high stakes and you are in the 99% percentile of players at said game. Assuming a standard 70/20/10 split (which is retarded, but that's another topic) then the NYC kid won ~$145. That is not enough to cover travel expenses to get from New York to Indy no matter how you travel unless you car pooled with like 4 other people. The real winner in the tournament was Tilt who took away $210 in "venue fees." Fuck that. Did they even provide you with food / drinks? TVs? Consoles? Did you get to use the projector? I'm guessing you were tucked away in the little corner of the arcade where they store extra chairs and shit.

This is why Tilt is a bad place for fighting game tournaments. It would be so much better if this was held at another arcade that didn't require you to pay for parking and didn't charge a ridiculous rake. Fucking shit, just hold a tournament at Chad's house, have a $5 venue fee, and buy pizza and drinks for people. That would literally be more effort than Tilt put out. Plus you don't have to deal with the fat and angry chick that works at Tilt.

I'm just saying, I would be willing to wager that Chad has made more money in his lifetime than Justin Wong ever has playing a fighting game. The real money is in getting used as a marketing tool by some desperate corporation to pawn off their shitty headphones and keyboards.

What team did you and NYC kiddo use?

Well I didn't go in the hopes to win a bunch of money, I'm happy to break even I guess and that I won a little extra (even though I entered AE which I probably shouldn't have since I haven't played in so long. Still, I went like 3-2 in it and just barely lost to Brent in the final round of the match). I just like to compete and see where I actually stack up against people that aren't just online. Beat Brent and FJ from Fort Wayne and some random Indy people in Marvel, but just lost to that NY guy twice. He used Magneto, Dante, Wesker I think... He had a few other teams as well and had a sick Iron Man and Skrull team (which had Wesker on it too I believe). I dunno, you'll see when the videos are uploaded. It kinda sucks since I beat everyone else on the big screen which wasn't the record station so the only recorded matches of me are losing to him to really stupid mistakes. I swear, that setup was goofy with the recording they had going, I was dropping EVERYTHING and my assists would come out randomly or at the wrong time. Nerves got to me a lot though too.

I used Wesker/Task/Phoenix for most of it and then tried Akuma instead on the last round but it didn't help. I lost because of Phoenix and I won because of Phoenix throughout the tournament, but I will probably drop her depending on the opponent I play. She just isn't good against a competent player. She beats up on scrubbies but one snap back and you're done. I'm excited to hear the new character announcements that will be rolling in soon and will probably rearrange my team after trying some new people. Might try to just level up my Akuma or maybe even try to learn someone else that could fill that role like Dante who has a bit more range and ways to open someone up.

Riot, do you think that the $10 venue fee at Tilt is bullshit? Yes or no. Seeing how you stack up is stupid because it's a small Indiana tournament that doesn't matter at all in the grand scheme of things but I'm glad your childlike mind appreciated it.

This is me being passive aggressive. I am Jason Thompson.

It doesn't matter if it's just indiana. It was actually a pretty big turnout similar to naptown clutch (a little over 20 people) and since I lost to someone from nyc I'm happy to know that I am one of the best in the state. Not sure how that makes me have a childlike kind but okay! The venue fee is dumb but who cares? I don't try to find faults in everything and just try to enjoy things for what is good (like ssf4) so I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch and just try to have fun. I'm happier knowing nobody in Indiana beat me than spending ten extra bucks.

Yes it does. Indiana is free. If a nobody from NYC can take the whole tournament that should tell you something.

See above

Adults. Thinking adults care about shit like this. If I own a restaurant and require you to tip the server for 100% the cost of the meal no one would eat there and everyone would call me a retard.

Ignorance is bliss! People play shitty games like ssf4 because that's where the money is and that's what is being played at Evo. It's the exact same reason why no one in the poker world plays 7-card Stud anymore and everything is just a giant Texas Hold 'em fest.
I'm happier knowing nobody in Indiana beat me than spending ten extra bucks.
See first quote.

He's not a nobody he was pretty good and does well at ny stuff and did okay at eat coast throwdown. I like ssf4 it's all opinions, and like I said I don't look for flaws in every game I play. Maybe that's why you don't enjoy videogames anymore!

There are good players in indiana. Obviously not on the same level as the coasts, but there were some very strong players there. Baby steps here... Obviously I'm not going to fly to japan and beat tokido but if I can beat everyone in indiana maybe I can do well in the bigger midwest tournies with more practice. For never playing vs. games, let alone fighting games in general, for very long I'm happy with doing well. Stop trying to drag me down alllll the time!

Riot I'm sorry. This is the only way I feel like I can win when it comes to me, you, and fighting games.

I'll 100% behind you at Evo and I'll be the first to give you a bro hug when you lose. I'll buy you a buffet with my poker winnings.

You're probably right, I think I've become a bit too cynical about entertainment and it's the thing I hate most about myself other than my fat.
