drop me a line when indy gets a good track (not autocross) and allows street cars do drive on it. then you can talk.

Oh, and catbacks are required to run in the D1GP. Also, you have to have them in most other states because they do emissions testing.
do you realize what you just said? catback = larger piping from the catalytic converter to a muffler. since when do you have to have an aftermarket exhaust to do emissions testing?
Uhh.. Ok. If you go to a muffler shop, they'll ask if you want a muffler or catback, meaning, an exhaust system with a catalytic converter, piping, and muffler. It's a redneck term for a new exhaust system that got twisted with F&F and became essa/azn/wigger term. Trust me, I know this, I work at NAPA.

If you know what racing is, tell us then. It's not Nascar, stoplight-to-stoplight shit, or parking lot drifting. I've learnt that racing is a game of intelligence vs. intelligence. Knowing how to outsmart the other driver, knowing how to build a better machine, knowing how to get the best out of your machine, etc. All the kids that run around in fart can, N/A, Civics with steelies don't understand, to them it's just a way of trying to look good. However, you people that say racing is stupid and don't understand are no better for your closed mindedness. It's like the crossplayers for animes, everyone has their passion.

When i think Racing i think Rally racing. I don't think Nascar or drift, i think hardcore rally runs. And honestly, have you ever been in a race? A real one? If you have competitively, that's different, but I don't see the real point in spending thousands of dollars upgrading cars and all when it's basically pointless to do it, whoop de do, you have 100 more horsepower or a suspension setup that can allow you to go through turns at 100 mph. What does that matter on the normal road? It's more exciting to be in a purely stock car, or a car that has no differences or is even underpowered compared to whatever you're racing and beating them simply on driving ability.
My last statement is why I don't really like F1 or Indy car racing. I don't like Nascar because they run on freaking loops. I don't really care, it's your hobby, if you want to spend thousands of dollars on a car that won't return anything to you besides you getting speeding tickets and such for going way too fast on roads, that's fine by me. I like cars too, I truly do, but not to the point where i make them uneconomical.
Do what you will, but don't drive on public streets like a dumbass(going 15+ over the speed limit and getting into accidents)

Well, Matt.... there's this thing called self-control and being aware of your surroundings. Most of us don't just gun it when there's a chance that we're going to go up someone's ass. Most of us know how NOT to kill people... but accidents DO happen. It's also usually a drunk driver that causes accidents, not street racers. STreet racers would rather kill THEMSELVES then let their car die.
And Beat, buddy. A catback is some exhaust piping from the CATALYTIC CONVERTER -BACK- thus, it's a catBACK. And we don't do emission testing in Indianapolis. Yay. So kindly stfu.
Edit: You can also always just cut out your cat and put a 3 inch straight pipe where it used to be. Yay for giving the people behind you cancer while you blow fireballs and run rich.

how the fuck did you get a job at napa when you don't even know the correct terms for an exhaust system? you said catback as refering to the catalytic converter itself. don't try to blame your mistake on that gay ass movie.

My mr2 has the most efficient exhaust system in the world...
headers to end of system is less than 3 feet of pipe.
And yes it shoots fire. Alot of fire.
Decieded to cut everything off and install a cheap ass ebay muffler directly to the downpipe, it comes out the back of the car in the direct center, its incredibly ghetto.

And that came from someone that drives a CIVIC WITH STEELIES. Let me guess, you have a MoTeC exhaust? You had fucking Motegi wheels on the car before, so that says you know alot about performance. My fucking Dodge Dynasty wheels weigh less... With the fake fucking wire hubcaps! I said catback as in meaning from the fucking (cat)alytic converter on (back). If that's not the definition then what the fuck is it and what the fuck do you cal an exhaust system that doesn't include a cat?

but to answer this, there really isn't a set term for it. no cat would mean you have a test pipe in it's place.
