Ironically this is the only thread that stays on topic because virtually every other thread on here is destined to be a random thoughts thread. Plus this thread has the benefit of giving us a little time capsule of IndyDDR in its infancy through today.

I'm like 15 minutes into The FP. I like everything so far...except why the fuck did they shoot on HDV? The put good money into set design, costume design, etc and it shows, and I like it, then it's ruined by the fact I can't see shit, it looks horrible.
If someone would have gotten those guys in touch with me I would have lent them my EX1R completely pro bono. 60k is a super low budget for a feature, but it's more than enough to rent something better than HDV for principal photog.....Hell Shane Carruth was able to shoot Primer on 16mm, with less than $8k for the whole film.
Really odd to see great production value in everything, then see it shot on HDV. It's usually the other way around. Also spotting lav transmitters on some of the actors, visible ace hardware workshop floods being used as fills in a bunch of shots, etc. They managed to make it look good though, liking it overall so far. Acting has been good! that's usually the first thing to go in films this low budget
I leiikkk

In the special features, Brandon Trost briefly touches on that. He mentions that he had just come out of shooting Crank 2, in which they used those cameras. Apparently he knew what he liked what he could get out of them in practical as well as post, so he chose to go with what he was familiar with.

I like the cinematography of the film personally, I thought it sort of added to the Indie style of the film.

the camera on your S3 literally can resolve more, has higher dynamic range, and a wider color gamut. Sounds like he got comfortable and didn't want to learn something new for the sake of it not looking like asshole

One of our aides told me this at lunch and I thought it was pretty funny and perhaps applicable to a few of you on this forum!
She follows around a kid with a learning/social disability all day and yesterday he pulled her aside and said he had an embarrassing secret to tell her. He requested to move to the back of the room but couldn't say it. She had him write it down instead and he wrote "I wac My Little Pony." She started to kinda freak out and wonder how to react because she thought he was saying "I whack my little pony" and didn't know if it was some weird way of sharing his little secret, but eventually she asked him to read it and he said "I watch My Little Pony." She asked him he had all the toys and he said "No I do not purchase the merchandise I just enjoy the television episodes!"
I THOUGHT THIS WAS CUTE SINCE A FEW OF YOU WHACK YOUR LITTLE PONIES

Do you think because the kid is retarded that he watches the show unironically and is therefore the so opposite of hipster to the point where he's actually hipster? You know, it's one of those things where by not being a hipster you become a hipster.
So if I'm fat and unattractive (like I am IRL) could I play the "I have a social disability" card and get instant street cred? Because it seems to be working for this little retard.

Interrobang (the m-w word of the day) is one of those goofy words that ought to mean something entirely different. When you need to get answers from someone who doesn't feel like talking, you sex them up to loosen their tongue. That's an interrobang.
Am I right‽
