life is so weird!

Sooooo we drove to Columbus on Friday with an ominous black cloud trailing us. We got stuck in standstill traffic a few miles from Meg's sister's house as the storm rolled over us. It was pretty scary being stopped on the highway with a bunch of semis around us while wind gusted and shook everyone's car around and black clouds and leaves started to swirl around. We got to their house and the city was without power. We left this morning for our next stop, but hundreds of thousands still don't have power in the area (it's really hit or miss, some neighborhoods are out while across the street a few houses are on). Apparently the area we were in was one of the hardest hit areas in the country... lots of splintered trees fallen and cars/fences/porches smashed. No AC or power for fans either when it was like 90+ degrees. VACATION RIGHT?

Anyways, we drove up into Canada today to one of the southernmost parts of Ontario (Wheatly). We're at a little Bed and Breakfast now and I am relishing in electricity and Internet. There are a lot of Lebanese people in Canada. We're gonna stay til Tuesday morning after exploring the southernmost tip (Point Pelee) tomorrow I believe. Our phones are roaming so I can't really use GPS which is kinda scary but we're not too far into Canada I guess. Can't wait for EVO next weekend :):):). I am adventured out from all the storm/power nonsense and 5 hour-long drives.

Bring me something!

Uh I just got back from Point Pelee and then some wineries. I just saw your plea to get stuff after all that... do you want the smooth little rock that I picked up from Point Pelee? I will give it straight to you, just say the word. You can have some wine that Meg bought if you want!

Welp, it took me 11 hours and 11 minutes but I finally got my place of occupation caught up with all the work that needed to be done for one client. I am so afraid to look at my inbox right now to see all the e-mails and shit that I got from other clients that I could not spare an iota of my attention for.

MonMotha please enlighten us with all the work you have to do for your clients and how long it takes you to do said work.

I don't get to see creepy hobbit pictures of him skeezing on wax dummies because he blocked me on Facebook. I get to see people seemingly talking to themselves because his posts are invisible! Aye, Dios mioooooooo! : (

Um, it really depends on the client and what they need. I've sent bills to people for 15 minutes (in a month), and I had one client where the entire engagement only resulted in 11 billable hours. OTOH, I have one client right now that's basically in "work however much you can" mode (I'm one of a bunch of people working on the project).
