This has probably been reposted on FB about a billion times but if you haven't seen this I thought it was pretty funny:

Re: [Grubb's] Random Thoughts of the Day
I filed an insurance claim with State Farm today because I have a bunch of hail damage on my car. I have never had to deal with an insurance company before, how painful is the process? Do they just call me and say "Yes we will pay for damages" and then I pick a State Farm approved body shop? I have a $0 comprehensive deductible which, if I am understanding my policy correctly, means that State Farm will cover all of the hail damage since hail damage fits under their definition of their "comprehensive" insurance.
When do I call the body shop? Do I just them I have an approved insurance claim and then set up an appointment with them?

Re: [Grubb's] Random Thoughts of the Day
They'll pretty much tell you want to do. They'll probably just give you a list of body shops in the area (or let you suggest one you find convenient then tell you if they approve or not) and have the body shop inspect it for damage. Just make sure the body shop details ALL the damage. Amending the claim later on due to damage not initially disclosed is difficult, though not impossible.

If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

Do they just bill my insurance or do I have to pay the shop and then have State Farm write me a check?
Man, healthcare and insurance are like the two most confusing and obfuscated industries out there who are out to fuck you as much as possible.

Re: [Grubb's] Random Thoughts of the Day
Healthcare is mostly obfuscated because "insurance" is so intricately linked to it.
The answer is (generally) that if you use an "approved" facility, they'll bill your insurer directly and, if they know about one and can calculate it, collect any deductible/co-pay at the time service is rendered. You'll probably have no additional out-of-pocket costs to recover on your own.
If you use a "non-approved" ("out of network", for medical insurance) facility, you may still be able to be reimbursed by your insurer, but you'll have to file the paperwork yourself, pay up-front out-of-pocket, and your recovery may be limited if the facility you chose charged you more than your insurer (after the fact, with little documentation to back it up) claims one of their "approved" facilities would have charged.

Re: [Grubb's] Random Thoughts of the Day
Ah, well then I guess I'll be using a shop that's in cahoots with State Farm. Luckily there's a number of options all over the state but it sucks that all body shops are for the most part 8am-5pm operations so that means taking work off or doing some sort of special arrangement or whatever.

Would you rather:
1) be short but have a big dick
2) be tall but have a small dick
Basically, would you trade real height for dick height?

This is like one of those sliding scales when you make an RPG character.
Re: [Grubb's] Random Thoughts of the Day
So what's the crossover point where you really do end up a "tripod"?
