Tales of Vesperia and Valkyria Chronicles were some of the best RPGs on this gen of consoles (besides Lost Odyssey, and they both came out a long time ago). I will never say Blue Dragon was a better game than Xenoblade, much less most other games I listed. I don't know why you think I love that game lol. Simply playing something and enjoying parts of it doesn't constitute me as thinking it's the best game ever. I play games for fun battle systems with customizable character/gameplay systems. I played that game because I like the job system. In fact, the thing I look for in most RPGs is a fun battle system and gameplay style, and everything else beyond that is icing on the cake. I played more RPGs than the ones I listed, and they weren't particularly memorable, but I don't regret playing them. I really like experiencing and knowing a little about every game and enjoying the good parts of the game instead of griping about the bad parts. If you only look for the bad in every aspect of life, you become bitter... oh wait! I'm sure Xenoblade is awesome and I can't wait to play it, but I also think a lot of the Wii fanbase is rabid for an actual good RPG since they basically had none and went boners for this.Merk wrote:The only game in that list that has any potential is Nier. Half of those games didn't even get good reviews and we live in an age where even the most mediocre flavor-of-the-month clone of [big budget title] gets a 9/10.
I openly welcome your attempt to save face and talk about how much Blue Dragon is a better game.
And that sounds interesting Chadmang. I've heard of that game, but it might just be the original one I saw you playing on N64. If anything I'd like to mod my Wii to play stuff, but I don't know how even though I'm sure it's not hard. Just not that motivated to make it happen.
