Counting Combos

Post by Fluffyumpkins » Fri Nov 16, 2012 10:14 am

A member of the DDR community tipped me off to this:

http://www.amazon.com/Counting-Combos-H ... 1475003161

"A history of the Japanese gaming community surrounding the Dance Dance Revolution series, from 1998 to 2011, from the perspective of someone intertwined with the community from the beginning. This work follows the trends, opinions and impressions of both the casual and hardcore players over the years. More information is available at the author's homepage and blog: http://aaronin.jp/#books http://aaroninjp.blogspot.jp"

For $5.73, I think it is worth picking up.

Yeah he (Aaron) posted the PDF of this book on AIJ some time ago.

I seem to remember it being full of spelling errors and run-on sentences.

What a jerk.

I was already planning to pick up a copy. I think it will be an entertaining read.

Hi, sorry for bumping a month-old topic (though for whatever reason this is the 3rd from the top on the list)

Thanks for everyone that had an interest in the book and anyone that picked it up. I'm planning on ordering another 30 for sale and to offer to some of the locals but if anyone else here was also interested in a copy, I wouldn't mind parting with a handful of them. I would probably only charge the cost of shipping since the book has more than paid itself off. See: http://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/h ... 9722_o.jpg

About the spelling errors and run-on sentences, the book was revamped and proofread by a few different groups, including a couple guys at Amazon before it went on Amazon. I'm not saying it is the greatest thing ever written, because it isn't, and I can't even guarantee there are no mistakes in it whatsoever, but it is in much better shape than when I put it up as "Combos Continuing) over at lulu.com

Let me tell you about DDR in America. Nobody seriously plays anymore :D

IndyDDR is mostly a bunch of old hats talking about totally unrelated things.
