I applied to a company called Lightbound in downtown Indianapolis at the behest of some dude on Something Awful. By the look of things I'll have an interview this Thursday.

The position will pay $35k so it's going to be a lateral move from my position at Apparatus. It's a shift-based rotating schedule and I would have four days on working a 12 hour day shift and then a four day weekend every week.

Obviously I have no idea how much they gouge their residential and business customers but I'm sure their margins are ginormous just like any other Telco place.

So can we install Extreme on your cabinet so I can play Oni courses and super-homo Dancemania licenses?

I bought an 800 series Cisco router today from eBay and I hope I can dick around with IOS enough to earn my CCNA. My good friend's dad owns businesses in the Fort Wayne area and knows a lot of people - I have given him my resume to see if anything can come from that.

So why can't I connect to a Cisco router's console through a simple RJ-45 ethernet cable? Why do I have to use a RJ-45 to D-9 cable and then use a D-9 to USB adapter? Does anything really use a COM port anymore? Why can't they just get with the times?
