WTB: Dex Drive
Hey guys I've started playing fairly regularly on MonMotha's DDR machine over at Mr. Wagner's place and I would like to start getting into making edits. Does anyone have a dexdrive they would like to pawn so I can make this dream a reality?
How does $10 sound? That's how much they go for on Amazon.

Hmm... man I had one, I dunno if I still have it laying around though. I think that I looked for Chad awhile back and couldn't find it... I think I might have thrown it away awhile ago since I didn't think I'd ever have a use for it.
Good ol' DXRiot!, Riotment (Irresisitablement edit), MaxxRiot, and RiotHeal (Healing Vision Angelic). I made some decent edits.

Do you have a computer with a serial port?Merk wrote:Hey guys I've started playing fairly regularly on MonMotha's DDR machine over at Mr. Wagner's place and I would like to start getting into making edits. Does anyone have a dexdrive they would like to pawn so I can make this dream a reality?

LoL I was gonna say.... I just remember, you're gonna need to use your oldest computer in order to actually use this contraption. I still have all the old files with the step editor program, which is kind of tedious to use.
Re: WTB: Dex Drive
just pick up a nice cheap usb to serial adapter off of newegg for like 10 bucks. they work pretty well, had to use mine for old gps's, configuring network switches, etc

Re: WTB: Dex Drive
Yeah I'll probably have to get a serial to usb adapter for this little mofo. But I suppose the bigger question is does anyone even have a dexdrive?
Also, Riot, what program did you use to make edits? How did it work? Was it like edit mode on console DDR releases? Please tell me you can at least hear the portion of the song where you're trying to edit steps. You know, let's say I'm trying to edit measures 15-20 and I need to hear where in the song those measure are, can I do that as I edit steps?
Should I just say fuck it and get Extreme CS and do my edits there?

Re: WTB: Dex Drive
I'm pretty sure you can't hear the song, at least on the program I used. You just had to put in steps on the track and then go test it to see if it was messed up or not. Then again, it was a pretty old program so there might be other alternatives.
Can you make actual transferable edits on the home version of DDR Extreme? I thought it all had to be playstation 1.

Re: WTB: Dex Drive
Yes. You just have to use a PS1 memory card and it's kind of a pain in the ass.Riot wrote:Can you make actual transferable edits on the home version of DDR Extreme? I thought it all had to be playstation 1.
(And I am speaking of Extreme CS (JP). I have no idea if it works with the US version.)

I believe I still have the one with my edits on it.... maybe. I dunno, but I do have some PS1 memory cards. Though I think they're in Bloomington right now....
