Fix yo image broham.
Anyway Riot and Co. I'm going to play some Starcraft when I get home from work but I promise to set aside some time to Street Fight tonight if you are down. Shall we decide on a time? Perhaps 9pm to allow ChumpyFrumpkins to pray? Chad give money to Microsoft so they'll let you play a video game with us!

HMMMM well I am at Meg's apt for the night, though I do have my 360 here lolz. I can play when she goes to bed at 10 maybe if that's not too late, though I probably can't get on da mic. Meg has some trampoline exercise class tonight but that's probably around 6 or 7, but Chayd probably can't do that since he will be slaving away still.

The only reason I would ever go to ACEN would be to own some weirdos at the SSF4 tournament. I'd probably just win a bunch of manga anyways.

Maybe I would play Magic with the $150 worth of cards I've bought this weekFluffyumpkins wrote:I wanted to see DJ Sharpnel.Riot wrote:The only reason I would ever go to ACEN would be to own some weirdos at the SSF4 tournament. I'd probably just win a bunch of manga anyways.

You see this is what I don't get, this is going to sound weird coming from me - a person who plays music games - but I do not understand how someone can spend that much money on what's basically a deck of cards. This isn't limited to Magic or lol FF8 Triple Triad cards, but I feel that all tabletop gaming is prohibitively expensive.
I think shit like that would be more popular if it wasn't balls expensive, $20 for a $0.25 piece of plastic? No thanks. Take Warhammer 40k for example, I love how Games Workshop won't make or license a video game version of 40k because they know that if they do no one in their right mind would blow $200+ on the "Live" version of the game when they could just spend $60 on a computerized version and let it do all the repetitive and cumbersome calculations for you.
But whatev, I suppose some of the fun of these types of games is arguing about the rules and interpreting what the designers meant. Pretty much any game of Munchkin will include a heated argument on how the game is played and it's awesome.
Sorry I just like ranting, would you like to discuss street fighting?

Yeah those games use the War 40K name but they are not the tabletop game - they are games based in the 40K universe.

A good number of them are turn-based or real-time strategy games with tactical combat. Wouldn't that essentially be the tabletop game without all the tedious calculations? idgi

Yes that's a good point, however none of those games replicate the rules, mechanics, and shit of the tabletop game.
It's a distinct but subtle difference
